Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Another question for you folks. I like the WA6 with Sophia Princess and 6FD7 for my (low impedance) Denon D5000. But I'm finding it just a little bright with the (high impedance) Beyer T1. Any recommendations for tubes I should try in order to tame the HF a little bit with the T1, without losing...

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

So, any clues on where to purchase a good matched set of 6FD7?     Edit: Ugh, sorry all, I should do more research before posting. I'm lazy.  I see Jack sells them, there's a link on the WA6SE page.

Thanks! Does the 6FD7 require an adapter? Sorry, not a great tube expert.   Edit: looks like the answer is no, that it's a direct replacement for the stock 6DE7.

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice

Hi folks! Just joining this club, have acquired a WA6 with stock tubes. I plan to purchase upgrade tubes from Jack. I will be getting the Sophia rectifier. Now I'm trying to figure out which drive/power tubes to try. I'd rather not buy all of them, I'm kind of on a budget - or at least trying to...

Thanks, all! It was a lot of fun, glad I had a chance to meet a few of you. (Shoulda had name tags though to associate people with online ids... I know it's geeky but still...) This was my first head-fi meet, and it was well worth the drive down from Baltimore. I was glad to finally have a...

Hi all! I'm kind of an infrequent head-fi'er, but I know GreatDane a bit from another forum - would welcome a chance to meet you in person, GreatDane! I'm in Baltimore so it's a short hop, some chance I might be able to attend. If I do, I could contribute to the auditory mix an Audiotailor...

REVIEW: Audiotailor “Jade” Vacuum Tube Headphone Amplifier

Yeah, sounds like the jack is maybe a little loose or dirty and is not making good contact with the plug. You could try cleaning the plug and the jack with a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or q-tip for the inside of the jack. Other than that, might not be much you can do without...

    HE-5..initial musings

Well, to put myself back on the other side of the fence... now that I've got a tube that actually works (the RCA that came with it, and a replacement I got from a respected member here, were both bad - so it goes with tube gear and 40+ y.o. tubes), and have spent nearly a week so far breaking...

    HE-5..initial musings

Yes, immtbiker, I hear you; I apologize for speaking out of my frustration. I understand the EF5/HE5 is not the world's most expensive headphone rig. In fact I've probably put about the same amount into my current Jade+D5000 combo. I had my hopes up very high based on reading this and other...
