This is the house of Head-Fi.

Nice poem. Just stopping by to say "What's up!" to another fellow headfier living in the Inakas of Japan:)

    Pepsi or Coke?

I prefer coke because it's less sweet and more carbonated.

    Received K701 as gift....amping issue

Japan is EXPENSIVE!! Keep your eye out at Hard Off, if you don't know, don't ask , you may come across something for 50 bucks, but I hardly see vintage receivers. I don't know how much they run, but you can find AT headphone amps at Hyakuman Volt or someplace.

New Millett Hybrid MiniMAX (what happened to this thread?)

^I find what you guys have said pretty insulting, and I'm pretty chill with a nice cold beer in my hand If you can't see how it's not insulting, I think you need to relax.

    Another ATH-M50 thread...

If you feel that the cable will be nuisance, I would return it since you did order the coiled version. Maybe if you explain to them that they sent you the wrong ones, they'll send you the correct ones before you even return the ones you have. Anyway welcome to team M50's!!

    ATH M50 Expectations?

Man I always felt that my amps did not add that much to the M50's. As mentioned before, slightly wider sound stage and slightly more controlled bass, but nothing really to go out of my way to amp them. Guess we all hear differently

what does the HD650 do well?

    ^ Hahahaha...Nice!

what does the HD650 do well?

Hmm I would have to say that the K701's have slightly more bass. I think the DF's and K701's sound similar except for the DF's are pretty flat, made for recording, with slightly smaller sound stage and the K701's are a little more colored. I only recabled mine because they were more than 10...

what does the HD650 do well?

Hahahah Just personal preference. I see you've owned the DF's. I have a pair I've owned for over 10 years recabled with Black Dragon's and repadded with velor, I kinda prefer those over my K701's. I might be a little biased towards them since I've owned the for so long though, but since you got...

    ATH M50 Expectations?

I have used mine with an E5 and I don't think it's worth it if you're worried about adding more bulk, but for 20 bucks, it's worth a try. Sometimes I use it with my RSA hornet, it adds a little more soundstage and tighter bass, but for $400, the improvement in sound quality is minimal.
