Is it worth upgrading away from a Sound Blaster Z?
Current setup: PC w/ Sound Blaster Z outputted using non amped 3.5mm > E09k > DT 1990// E09k > AVR via line out My next move is to replace my FiiO E09k. I'm tired of the audio imbalanced occurring and the static when I adjust volume. I'm considering the Magni Hersey and maybe a miniDPS HD...- pLuhhmm

What about one that has equal or better base and soundstage, can be worn for hours comfortably, and has the same open feeling of the grados?- pLuhhmm

Upgrade from DT990?
250. COmpared to my grados they don't seem as open. The grados have a very airy feel to them, while the 990s feel more closed.- pLuhhmm

Upgrade from DT990?
Looking for an upgrade from my DT990. Want something that is a lot more open. Can be worn for long hours and are comfortable. A Detachable cable would be nice. Good and plenty bass. Large sound stage. Nends to be durable. I transport my main headphones often. $3-400 used or new- pLuhhmm

Is it possible for digital cables for headphones?
Instead of using standard analog 3.5/XXmm cables, is it possible to use digital ones instead? Could you replace it with say an Ethernet cable? I don't know the science behind audio to that extent so I'm not sure if that's even possible.- pLuhhmm

Best way to setup my audio?
Currently, I have a 3.5mm plugged into the first 3.5mm port next to the headphone jack, that goes into an 3.5mm to RCA adapter, which then goes into my FiiO E09k AUX IN, then from there my speakers are connected to the LINE OUT, and headphones into the FiiO headphone output in the front. Is...- pLuhhmm

Best way to setup my audio?
Okay, so I have a Creative Sound Blaster Z, FiiO E09k amp, M-Audio M10 speakers, and DT 990 250ohm headphones. The amp has a headphone port which uses the built in amp on the sound card and surround sound ports. Not sure which to use.- pLuhhmm

Any sign degradation going on with sound card w/ amp > standalone amp > headphone/speakers?
*Signal degradation* Bought a Creative Sound Blaster Z so I don't have to use my garbage onboard when I'm away from home, but when I'm home I want to use the SBZ DAC/features as well. Should I see any degrade/issues when using both amps? I'd prefer to still use my FiiO E09k amp mainly for...- pLuhhmm

LG HSS-F420 vs Nexus HSS-F400
Wondering if the sound quality is any different and if so, by how much. The LG is in South Korea and the Nexus must be local. LG: Estimated between Mon. Jul. 1 and Tue. Jul. Nexus: Between Fri. Jun. 21 and Tue. Jun. 25 Both are $35 shipped.- pLuhhmm
