Soul SL150
Has anyone seen Amazon's price on the souls recently? At $60 They actually make a bit of sense. Hopefully the trend will catch on to other Celeb headphones...- RevAmped

AKG k167 vs Shure SRH840 vs ATH M50
If you want a neutral sound the m50's wont be the best option, and especially the LP2's, they are both pretty bass heavy. The klipsch m40's ( I'm guessing you meant those) are so-so, they are average in terms of SQ, and noise cancelling is pretty bad. In my opinion, of the SRH840 would offer the...- RevAmped

Soundstage does it exist with headphones ?
I was speaking solely in terms of scuttle's post, I was in no way speaking of realistic situations, just the situation brought up by scuttle.- RevAmped

Soundstage does it exist with headphones ?
1,2,3 - Right but irrelevant, partially wrong, right but irrelevent. It is definitly possible to have 320kbps CD/WAV/FLAC file, I have downloaded "lossless" audio countless time to find that someone has simply converted cheap mp3 files into lossless files to give the impression that you are...- RevAmped

Soundstage does it exist with headphones ?
First, a 320kbps cd/wav/flac is just an mp3 file which has been converted. CD/WAV/FLAC files are generally ~1000kbps+, and you will get much more data to the headphones. In a 192kbps mp3, a fifth of the data is being lost, and when compressing audio soundstage is one of the first parts of the...- RevAmped

I happen to have a Mustang II and it works perfectly fine, adjust any knobs as you wish, just don't turn the volume too high or it will hurt.- RevAmped

Actually the Line 6 Spider 15 watt, and Fender Mustang I are the same price as a Fiio E9, and both accept dual sources. Who knew?- RevAmped

The problem with guitar amps is that they are mono, not stereo, amplifiers so they will merge all sound signals into one. Only try it if the amp has a headphone out and aux in. I know the Line 6 amps do, also some Marshalls and Fenders. There are a couple of amps which process in stereo when...- RevAmped

Try the Creative Aurvana Live if you do not want to spend that much money; you can get them new for ~70 and they are nice balanced sounding, and need no amp, although they might benefit from a E5/E6 bass boost. If you are still okay with spending 200 go for the UE6000. They are perfect for your...- RevAmped

The M50s sound better for the same price, if you only want to spend that much just go for used M50s or the M50Ss.- RevAmped

The OP said his price range was 200$,and I would worship you if you could find better cans than the UE6000s for the same price. The UE6000s can be used without batteries and sometimes sound better passive, if you don't believe me read tyll's review here...- RevAmped

Headphone recommendation for an overwhelmed person
They do not need an amp, they would just benefit from one, the M50s without an amp would be pointless because of the many better sounding headphones in the price range of the OP, the amp is a way to bring the M50s up to the par of the UE6000s, and the E6 is a way of bringing the 840s up to the...- RevAmped

If by efficiency you mean low impedance, then you would be wrong. The M50s may be low impedance headphones, but that does nothing to change the fact that they suffer from distortion when unamped. In fact, the reason they need an amp is largely due to their low impedance needing a high current to...- RevAmped

The only problem here is the existence of the Shure SRH840s,which are in the OP's price range. To add, the problem with the 840s is the existence of the UE6000s which have better all round sound quality. Although the SRH840s with a Fiio E6 might also be an option, given that the 840s are very...- RevAmped
