Audio-GD NFB-15.32 Delivery & Impression Thread
I'm unable to install the USB driver using the manual method, "Error Code 48" appears and it says that the driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. Windows Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363 If I install it via the setup program, it appears to be successful (asks me to restart PC) but...- Submarinesailor

The Official Grado 325i Owners Club.
I just received a pair of Alessandro MS-2's with the chrome anodized cups. Awesome sound! I've owned the SR-60's and SR-125's and they were just too bright. Couldn't stand to listen to them for more than an hour.- Submarinesailor

Sennheiser PC350 with ASUS Xonar Xense, worth buying?
ROBSCIX and Nunyabiz, Sennheiser marketed these headphones as plug and play right into your soundcard, no external amplifier needed. When I compared them, as is, to my other headphones (see the list above) that are also just plugged in to the soundcard the PC-350's sounded terrible. If...- Submarinesailor

Sennheiser PC350 with ASUS Xonar Xense, worth buying?
X-Fi ExtremeMusic at the time. I'm sorry if I came across a bit harsh on the PC-350's. I had owned the HD-580's for years and used them for single player games and Itunes and loved the sound. Then I upgraded to the 650's and was blown away by the high quality of Senn's. Not as comfortable...- Submarinesailor

Sennheiser PC350 with ASUS Xonar Xense, worth buying?
I owned a set of PC350's. My objective opinion is based on also owning SD-580's, SD-650, Razor gaming headphones with built in mic, Shure SRH-840, and a piece of crap set of earbuds costing $15. I play FPS games quite frequently (former WoW addict). The 350's were worse than the earbuds.- Submarinesailor

Streaming Music Throughout The House
Windows Home Server from your friends MSDN would work fine. **disclaimer - buy it if you like it** I installed it on my old Dell GXsomething or other and played around with it before splurging on the HP box. The only thing I'd suggest is to get at least 512k of memory installed. The MSDN...- Submarinesailor

HP's version of the Windows Home Server boxes may be what you are looking for. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002N8A0A2/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=pc This is an HP EX490 that falls just within your budget. Here's what I use it for, out of the box, no fiddling around with fancy addins: 1. Itunes...- Submarinesailor

Please recommend USB DAC w/Microphone input
Thanks for the replies! I decided to go for an internal sound card solution. Picked up an Auzentech X-Fi Forte with the X-Fi IO drive. Totally eliminated the external speakers when I shift to the headphones. The card also has a microphone pre-amp so I should be good to go.- Submarinesailor

Please recommend USB DAC w/Microphone input
I've got the Logitech Z-5500 speakers and the headphone output is horrible. I'm looking to plug in a USB DAC when I shift to headphone mode but... I can't find a decent one that has a microphone input. Help! Thanks!- Submarinesailor

Can someone recommend a soundcard <100 for games and music?
Feanor, No doubt you've had great experiences with your cans (I've got HD 580's myself), but playing Doom 3 or Half Life 2 in 5.1 adds a much bigger layer of believability to your environment. My recommendation for sound card: Audigy 2 ZS at around $80. Speakers: Logitech Z-680 at $200- Submarinesailor

post your computer audio setup
Audigy 2 Platinum --> Klipsh 4.1 or --> Senn HD580 Of course the Klipsch's sound great. The Livedrive on the Audigy doesn't have a good amp, as soon as my PPA is finished we'll be talking some serious sound for the headphones. Sound source: Games, Movies.- Submarinesailor

You can get the "Art of Electronics" from Abebooks brand new for $15 (plus shipping) from a bookstore in India. Did it myself. Highly recommended.- Submarinesailor

Want your own HD 580/600/650 cable connectors?
Other than "bragging rights", what's the deal with a solid silver pin? Are there any tangible and documented benefits over silver-plated copper? Perhaps one of you guys in the "silver is really cheap and way better" camp could send some to Drewday to make it easier for him to get them made.- Submarinesailor
