I use the Composer only at home and have a fan or air conditioning around, so the leather pads are no real problem, imho. Btw, I still enjoy the Composer very much. Cheers, Bernie

The Composer also excels with Massive Attack, for example, even though most of their albums have a rather limited dynamic range. The Composer nonetheless shines with good dynamics, great (low) bass reproduction and well-drawn instrument placement and soundstaging.

As a happy owner of the HE 1 for years, I am also very happy with the Composer these days. Cheers, Bernie

Well, I would say that the Composer measures better, but maybe I am not able to interpret them properly... :wink: But what I can say for sure is that the Empyrean 2 still sounds slow and bass sounds soft and spongy to my ears at least. Cheers, Bernie

@Nomax is in contact with many manufacturers behind the scenes, not only with Austrian Audio. DCA, Sennheiser, Meze and Audeze, to name only a few. Without his influence I would expect that there were even more headphones around these days with heavy weight, coarse, with bad fit, off tonality...

They did. Imho the general presentation of the Composer is closer to the K812 than to the K872 however, but without the sibilance of K812 and much improved in almost every respect.

You can count me in too. I also prefer the Composer to the Utopia V2. Both are great headphones though and it is a matter of taste which one prefers. I have listed my Utopia V2 for sale in the classifieds, so Head-Fi'ers from Europe can get a great headphones for a reasonable price. :) Cheers...
