I highly recommend getting the spinfit CP100 if you're into treble and clarity. It definitely helps sort out the congestion that is prevalent in the VK4. Maybe the CP145 if you want a deeper bass.- Yokanos

Maybe you got a knockoff or a defective product? I got mine locally in Indonesia earlier this year from a reseller and they have really good bass and they're not as hot as some might lead you to believe. The VK4 has good bass but for more heavy stuff you can try the QKZ AK series. AK6 has great bass and also some top end, the AK7 maybe has a bit less bass but you get better mids. If you have a bit of a budget maybe try the BLoN BL03 or Sony MDR XB75AP- Yokanos

What KZ to pick: EDX, ZST Pro, ZST X, ES4, ZSR, ZSN Pro
I think that the KZ line of IEM's are very V-shaped to the point where you might not get the mids you're looking for. The ZSN Pro is definitely bass heavy and so is the EDX when compared to their competition at the price point. If you're looking for a focus on mids maybe you could look into IEM...- Yokanos

Bassy, single dynamic-driver IEM recommendations
I would recommend the Sony MDR XB75AP, heavily bass boosted and I don't think it has the V shape that is akin to Chi-Fi IEM. You don't get any sibilance and the bass is very rich and will blow your socks off.- Yokanos
