Thanks for the catch. The S8 is still a terrific headphone with some of the best detail retrieval I've heard below $1000, and I felt that it's successor, the Moondrop Dark Saber, was a sidegrade rather than a definitive improvement. With that said, I'm using the IO Audio Volare more these days...

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

The Simgot DEW4X is a fairly priced and competitive entry into the affordable dongle space, with excellent power efficiency and thermal management. If you’re looking for a neutral-warm dongle, and want something lighter, more compact, more power efficient, and cooler-running than the Colorfly...

Simgot EM6L if you want a brighter IEM. For something more neutral, I still think the Truthear Hexa is hard to beat at that price point. Not sure what I'd recommend as a warm/basshead IEM in that range.

Introduction and Disclaimer The IO Audio Volare is an in-ear monitor that employs a combination of one dynamic driver, four balanced armatures (BAs), and four electrostatic (EST) drivers per housing. Retailing for $599, this review unit was provided to me by Shenzhen Audio. I suspect that IO...

I\O Audio seems to be Shenzhen Audio's answer to Linsoul's Thieaudio. I received a review unit and it's competitive/worth the money at the $600 price point, not a giant killer or anything like that though.

KZ ATE. I'd never heard anything so good for so cheap, and in retrospect, it ended up changing my life. I wrote my first review on Head-Fi on that IEM seven and a half years ago. One thing led to another and I've had a perpetual backlog of IEMs to review for about the last four or five years.

CanJam New York 2024 Impressions Thread (March 9-10, 2024)

This was my first CanJam, as I mentioned in the lead-up thread. I had always wanted to attend, but something always prevented me from doing so. USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Hey all, just a quick update on the Colorfly M1P. I noticed when using it with my Android phone that I seemed to have a lot more headroom than when using it with my computer. I uninstalled a bunch of other dongles from my Windows installation and their drivers to see if my volume was bugged, and...
