The PENON official thread
So, while everybody is hyped about the Voltages and Quattros I have discovered this amazing pairing. The Serial simply won't stop impressing me. As soon as I see Serial mentioning somewhere a 3 way speaker appears in my mind. Such a fantastic iem it really is. Anyway, before I start about this...- krenky

As I described the SR8 is a more mature sounding iem and sits perfectly between being neutral, relaxed and a highly engaging / energetic set. If you summarize everything this is a very well priced iem with amazing sound, impressive technicalities and perfect tuning of 24 drivers in them. I think...- krenky

First thing, I am not a vocal maniac, I like great vocals but I am mostly into instrumental and electro sound. I love the great timbre and bass and also great tuning, balance. These SR8 deliver that and much more. I can definitely assure you that their highs are non-fatiguing. Note that if you...- krenky

Thank you. I am glad that you like my review and that you have the same opinion about these. Its shame the SR8 dont get all the popularity like Penon Impact for example gets. Its very hard to find any negative points about them. They are just an excellent iem. I hope more postivies reviews will...- krenky

JM Audio Editions XTC Headphones
If you never had closed back then for sure 2.5. They have great soundstage for closed back, in fact it took me few days to get use to it. It feels like I am in a spacious room listening to speakers. Their bass is more impactful comparing to the open backs plus the isolation has its qualities...- krenky

Sound Rhyme impression thread
I heard DTE900 briefly and it has great and energetic sound indeed. I think its very close to the FH9 at least to my ears. They are both excellent but in my case I actually prefer SR8. I think its matter of preference of course. For me SR8 is more balanced unit but both have incredible...- krenky

SR8... Let me start with the fact that I disagree with the statements below from the other reviewers. For me this set is one of the #1 iems I have heard so far and yes I had a chance to hear some more expensive sets as well (although nothing above 2k). They might fool you first that they sound...- krenky

What a pity.. I am using mine with extra care their headphand design its quite fragile. See if this helps, it looks like it should fit just fine. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003389776584.html- krenky

Good luck with that driver replacement. I had chance to hear few more expensive headhones (inc. D9200) and was not impressed. The D7200 have a special place in my collection. If you go for the D7200 purchase make sure their manufacturing year is 2021+ because of the new upgraded drivers.. They...- krenky

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
The FH9 are incredible set. Amazing sound, superb built and fantastic value. You can see this confirmed by many on their review page. I got new upgrade cable for them called Grape God and its excellent looking and sounding cable. I just posted my FH9 review few days ago there. I strongly...- krenky

No need to repeat what has been written in these reviews on this page. For me this is an amazing set worth every penny. Out of box they were just ok but after some burning time, swapped filters to green and changed cable to OCC + Alloy = OMG sound. These are full of life and energy, they have...- krenky

For your genres the DTE900 makes more sense, I would recommend. The SR8 might be better all rounder. You wont be disappointed with any of them. Good luck- krenky

Depends on what you prefer. The SR8 is more neautral one with amazing technicalities and lot of details. Its more mature iem perfect for classical, instrumental music but still a lot of fun for edm. In my case I like to use EQ but for SR8 there is hardly any customization needed. Its excellent...- krenky

Yes, but still if you try some proper desktop amps you will notice a difference. I have tried various amps on them but still the PMA-800 is my favourite. Not only it adds extra body to it but it also has this unique distortion that is very addicted. I am planning to get some vintage amplifier...- krenky

Yes, you will like that a lot just make sure you have enough power to drive them because with proper amp they really shine. They scale greatly with it. Enough power adds a lot of body into the music, I love it.- krenky

Not a good idea... they are not made for outside use. They might get damanged easily but if you have to then be careful. Isolation is decent but not best in the class. For me sitting in garden or walking through nature its ok but travlling with them in public = not good. For portable MM400 is...- krenky

Having had the XTC 2.5 for a few months now they still keep impressing me. Just came from a couple of weeks holiday and was thrilled to get back to them. Not sure if you can get better closed back than XTC especially in its price range. Even if you go higher there is not much of competition as far as I heard not even ZMFs are touching the XTC in details department plus XTC closed have amazing soundstage. Most of the higher priced closed backs...- krenky
