Can headphone drivers change over long periods of time? I don't necessarily mean "burn-in", but I am worried about oxidation and things like that. I've had my hd600's for 6 years now.

I've owned several pairs of IEMs with metal mesh filters which result in static discharges, especially when it gets cold out (dry air + fleece). Why haven't they fixed this?
