You know that’s controversial. Why? Because I did reviews on both, and I was 99.90% positive that they are the same. So then I get this guy who contacts me and he has two different graphs......one for each model. Yet both are pulled off the internet and could be the measuring devices. Meaning we...

@alexandros a, Ya, then after a while, maybe it was just the music, but even a good part of the timbre was fine. That is exactly what it is, it's off timbre sometimes.Cheers!

@alexandros a, Thanks, I was speculating on value and I’m guessing the bass quality along with the ways the BAs sound makes it a nice package, especially since there is nothing overly offensive here as far as a tune? Ya that oomph, it IS great isn’t it, because it’s both actually detailed...

100% agree. Even Crinacle had a wacky first impression, where later he found, (as many do) two separate (yet very different) IER-Z1R insertion depths. You can even use two different sizes of ear-tips. One (bigger ear-tip) on the outside, and one deep (smaller ear-tip)................. creating...

2014 when Sony gave us the XBA-Z5 it was a while ago. In fact Sony did give me the Z5 as a gift with a DAP. You know in Singapore gifts with audio purchases are more common and liked. To where I like the Z5 but realize the drawbacks. One crazy thing is if you try and bring the midrange up and...

The design of the IER is resulting in the actual sound. Meaning they could have not made it any other way. The metal process in junction with the drivers create anti-resonance and phase alignment, better than 98% of IEMs ever made. If you’re wondering where the IER-Z1R magic is, that’s one of...

    SONY IER-Z1R

You already know....though just like the XBA-Z5 did, Sony mids at times maybe some folks may think they are a hair grainy at this proportion? But it is nice, never thought pure silver would be the ticket for the IER, but this cable is also what people use for the MDR-Z1R.

There were times of fumbling with Sony, where they came out with a little known DAP before 2016 when they introduced the 1Z and 1A. Same as they made the Z7 as their TOTL, though it only held that position for a short time as around 2016/2017 before they made the full-size Z1R. And having both...

@Lohb @jamato8 I hope I wrote this in the review, and I’m 98% sure I did. I said that I am not a Dongle expert here, though I do know what sound I like. But I only have a few of them. Plus probably only a few have 40 Dongles, or something, you know the hyper obsessed members here......lol.

@jamato8, Dongles are an item that I probably respect the most for sound value per dollar spent. Also they are a convenient way to access your computer while out-and-about, in a time when a DAP is just too much to take out-of-the-house. I would like to try the ibasso DC-Elite, and that’s just...

@Lohb, I have heard people talk about the Cayin RU-7, though I haven’t heard it. Really as I stated in the review the GO-bar goes into third position from the top from all the portables I have heard. Only beat out by the 1Z and WM1A. Sorry it’s not exactly the sound you’re after. Though remember...

May 1, 2024 at 3:43 PMPost #100,208 of 100,208 @goga1980, Look I tried it, the Mater and the IER-ZiR and it was the best combo I ever heard with the Z1R. I was using the Sony Silicone ear-tips and the Sony WM1A with MrWalkman's aftermarket firmware. Bass was textured, controlled and deep, the...
