    Best IEM tips?

That was not something I had considered before, thanks for the info. The stems on mine are quite short but I tried this earlier. Unfortunately the design of the stems make the tip unsecure so I would expect to lose them often... Also good to know. Amazon should be delivering the sample pack...

    Best IEM tips?

That is a good point. I will keep it in mind if the bigger sizes do not resolve the problem for me. Good to know. If it comes to it, I may have to try multiple types then. Do you know which ones you tried? Ety and Shure stems are really thin in comparison so I am not sure if the Shure ones...

    Best IEM tips?

I push in until they stop going further which I guess is around when the tip is flush with your ear...? It is not possible to over-insert mine as the the IEM body sits in the outer ear. I do not find that the sound changes if I slowly pull them out, until the seal "breaks" and they are then...

    Best IEM tips?

Wow. Are we long lost twins? LOL! The silimarities get crazier... I was set on buying the A/U12T after multiple demos, until I went to CanJam and tried more options. My Etys were treated to custom tips years ago (I have probably been using them for closer to 15 years tbh) so never spent much...

    Best IEM tips?

Hi all, I do not remember if I posted previously in this thread or not but following the purchase of my Letshuoer EJ09 at CanJam UK, I followed recommendations for the Azla SednaEarfit Max and purchased a sample pack to ensure I got the correct sizing. I did the same with the Final E, but...

    Console Gaming DAC Options

Nice. What headphones / IEMs do you use? I ended up getting a Topping E30ii / L30ii stack, just in time for my holiday.

"Gaming" vs. Cheap DACs: Recommendations Please

Haha, thanks mate. Bleeding from the ears is never a good sign, but I take it you are going for the full battlefield experience? 😂 I waited a bit long so my choice ended up being rushed and biased by availability as I needed in time to take on holiday with me on Monday. Thanks guys

Hi dunring, Which interconnects do you use on your stack, and do they come in short lengths?

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

Being a gaming thread, it is safe to say that your primary usage has different priorities to mine, and it sounds like it benefits this use case. What I was alluding to as more of a blanket statement covering everything, especially in this industry, is that the sales figures focus on what gets a...

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

I watched some more of his videos and he mentioned a high-end Topping stack as he wants to future proof himself for power hungry headphones... The video could be outdated though so it will be interesting to hear what he says.

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

My excuse is that the last PC I built (7± years ago?) was a Gigabyte Brix because my PC requirements were simply to give access to the Drobo that contains my music collection... It cannot "game". 🤭 I completely agree with you though and I have always known that PC gaming is better, apart from...

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

I believe not as the poxy box of X-ness does not support audio over USB, only TOSLINK. 🤦 Hence I will happily move over to PC gaming if I can back into it. I have posted some other DAC/amp options I discovered yesterday in the other thread as I do not want to hijack this one... 😅

"Gaming" vs. Cheap DACs: Recommendations Please

I have been doing some more research and may have a few options... Any recommendations from personal experience would be appreciated please: Fiio K5 Pro Schiit Fulla 3e Sound Blaster X G6 Topping E30 + L30 stack JDS Labs Atom + stack (amp is currently unavailable) Are any of those worth it...

"Gaming" vs. Cheap DACs: Recommendations Please

I am not sure if it makes a difference but I am going on holiday next week with the sole purpose of this test, hence I need to purchase in the next few days, otherwise I will only be able to use my IEMs as sound is currently via the controller output...

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

Thanks for the suggestion. I am only looking to spend around £150 at present (maybe £300 if the HD800S absolutely needs a stack), so the Mojo 2 will not work at present unfortunately.

"Gaming" vs. Cheap DACs: Recommendations Please

Thanks for the suggestion. I am only looking to spend around £150 at present, but I may be able to stretch to £300 if only a stack will power my HD800S. This is just a trial... Unfortunately the Mojo 2 is too expensive for this, but I will keep it in mind if I need to upgrade after this trial...

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

I just had a thought... Do you know what he uses to run his IEMs? I am in the market for a DAC for the XBOX One X (i.e. TOSLINK in, no mic needed), reasonably urgently as I am taking with me on holiday next week...

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

I could see that being the case. My exploits at CanJam London are in official thread but I found my ones to be the most accurate sound out of everything I compared them to (64 Audio, Campfire Audio, ThieAudio, etc.). The EJ07M was similar, but the 09 had greater HF if I remember correctly...

"Gaming" vs. Cheap DACs: Recommendations Please

Hi all, This is a separate request to my other thread as I have found a software workaround for that... I have dug out my XBOX One X to see if I can get back into gaming and some needed decompression, but will at best be a very casual gamer. If I do catch the bug, I plan to swap camps and...

    Opinions: IEM for competitive gaming?

How did you find these for gaming after testing? I bought the EJ09 after 2-days of full-on IEM testing at CanJam as they were my prefered pair for music out of almost 30 different (mostly) high-end sets. I had not thought of using them for gaming until recent as I generally do not have much...

    Console Gaming DAC Options

JDS is a name that I keep seeing, which is clearly a good thing... If we open this up to any DAC that has optical ports though then that changes the criteria completely and puts me back in known territory, which TBF is my plan B should the mixing audio option be impossible to achieve... As is...

    Console Gaming DAC Options

Hi all, After reading the relevant threads I could find in this section of the forum, I find the need to call on the collective experience of Head-Fi to help me find the right solution for my requirements. I have had a few years away from gaming, but I am now trying to get myself back into it...

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

Understood. But the question should then be, does that colouration still equate to "natural"? 🤔 I like to think of it this way: there is no EQ in real life so natural sound is not subjective, it is simply correct. Even though I literally listen to all genres, I use a lot of classical music when...

If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...

I think I understand now, helped by the explanation of others below. 👍 The problem with any subjective hobby is that the descriptive terms are also open to interpretation. 🤦 As you have the XR model, you have had a different experience than my P model so the sound you are experiencing is likely...
