Grado Fan Club!
That is kind of sad to hear. Every so often I see a deal on an RS1X and am tempted. There is a used one on CAM and an open box at a store I frequent. I LOVE my GH2's (actually wearing them right now), but I couldn't go with less bass.- Shane D

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
Just got an email from Headphones.com. Reading it and I came across a link for open boxes. I clicked on it and browsed through. What caught my eye was open box Arya Organic's for $949. They are marked as final sale, so no returns. I wouldn't worry about that though, if you are sure you want...- Shane D

Any Fitness enthusiasts (Gymrats)?
I get what you're saying. I used to sell fitness equipment for many years and regularly heard two questions: 1) What's the best workout to get a six pack? And 2) What's the best cardio machine? Just human nature. Always looking for the fastest/easiest solution.- Shane D

Trouble finding new music
I use iTunes and go music shopping every Friday. The rock and alternative sections are always fresh. The Blue and Jazz sections do not get the same efforts. -
Any Fitness enthusiasts (Gymrats)?
I hadn't worked out for about 12 years. Old and fat! I started using the gym in my apartment building in late December. Then in January I bought an adjustable bench and an adjustable dumbbell set. We were rarely using the dining area so we donated the table and started building. The area is 12ft...- Shane D

Show us your Car!
My car (2013 Infiniti G37X) will celebrate its' 11th birthday in July. I bought it in February, 2018. I really enjoy this car. Peppy enough to be fun, but not fast enough to get me in trouble.- Shane D

Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread
Violectric amps have a warm, full sound. Especially the older ones, such as the V220/V281 and V280/V200. I have also heard some very nice things about the new V202/V222. Other new ones can get Very expensive and are apparently a little more neutral. I have an iFi Pro iCAN. It was pretty...- Shane D

Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread
They really are a great headphone. Violectric amps are pretty warm and fill them out nicely. I have an old V220 and they are a great combo. Also my iFi plays nicely as does a bit of bass boost.- Shane D

Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread
For me the original Red album was not great, but as you say, a sign of the times. I loved the improvements! However, I was already pretty happy with the blue album, so I found the remasters a bit too smooth. Of course, tastes differ.- Shane D

Sennheiser HD 660S2 thread
Do you find the mix a bit too smooth? I bought the new red album, as it was a must for me. I thought the blue was a little too smoothed out though. For me, the HD660S2's sing their best on the Valhalla 2.- Shane D

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
An update from September. I am really loving my collection now. After ten years and going through about 50 headphones so far, I have reached a pretty happy place. Not that there won't be more additions, but I am not in any rush. My favourites are: 1) Focal Clear's (OG). W-shaped and, to me, do...- Shane D

Grado Fan Club!
For the first time since January my assistant and I pulled down the GH2's. I had almost forgotten how good these sound. Plugged into my Violectric V220. The bass sounds nice and full! The trick is not to compare to other headphones!- Shane D

Violectric amp that doesn't warm up just like the lake people?
My Violectric is an older model, the V220. Basically a stripped down V281. It barely ever gets lukewarm. Speaking to the older models, heat has never been an issue. Not that I have heard of anyway. Have you asked around on the V202/V222 threads?- Shane D
