best tda1541 DAC?
Lampizator doesn't have a tda1541 as far as I'm aware. Haven't heard a amr, but I do own a killer. I will just say the killer is a lot of work, it's very much a community product that has no official form.- Henerenry

New Flagship from Audio-Technica: ATH-W3000ANV, 50th Anniversary Headphones
Just got mine no more than 20 minutes ago. Straight from my ipod they sound pretty good. Very detailed and a bit "airy". It also seems to "spread" things out a bit, not a bad thing with some of my more compressed material. I dont find it particularly full or sweet in the mid, if...- Henerenry

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Quote: My initial impressions with the Lyr are that it helps reduce (remove) the darkness which used to bug me about the LCD2. For the price, its worth at least a try.- Henerenry

Got me LCD-2s, do I still need my HD800s?
I think its just preference, I for one prefer my hd800 to my LCD. I must say though, that I was never really happy with my hd800 till I paired it with the crack. Goes someway to showing how important synergy is.- Henerenry

Solid State Vet Wants To Try Tubes For The HD 800 and T1!!
I have a couple of nice rca ecc82 sitting around to roll. I stand by my comments though, even with the standard tube compliment, the amp pairs remarkably well with the hd800. You should get one skylabs, I'd love to hear your thoughts on one compared to some of the other amps in your stable.- Henerenry

Solid State Vet Wants To Try Tubes For The HD 800 and T1!!
United Eletronic Tube 6080 and Electro Harmonix Ecc82. Owning a WA2 I have some tubes that I can roll into the Crack but I'll wait a while. Another forum member commented that the difference between the stock tube and the 5998 is less apparently after the speedball upgrade. Honestly...- Henerenry

Solid State Vet Wants To Try Tubes For The HD 800 and T1!!
I own a fully upgraded WA2 with a few different tubes, with the stock tubes in the Crack and with "improved" tubes for the WA2 I still slightly prefer the crack+speedball. I am sure I could roll tubes to change my preference but, for the hd800 at least the synergy is "magical"- Henerenry

Solid State Vet Wants To Try Tubes For The HD 800 and T1!!
You probably couldnt even build the WA2 chassis for the amount you would pay for the crack and speedball. There is no doubt that the Woo's are solid, and I believe look great. It just goes to show you though, that for tube amps, I think that the actual circuit may be the most crucial part...- Henerenry

HD-800 amp discussion
I vote crack + speedball. Honestly, the synergy it has with the hd800 is amazing. If anyone has thought that the hd800 was a tad anemic in the bass they must hear one! Its not bloated, but its tight and fast and goes low.- Henerenry

Solid State Vet Wants To Try Tubes For The HD 800 and T1!!
My crack and speedball has just been finished, and I have to say, without having done a lot of back to back testing, for the hd800 at least, it is slightly ahead of the wa2. It may be the tube combo or something else, but if you have a hd800 you owe it to yourself to build one, for the cost its...- Henerenry

New Schiit Lyr: Hybrid 6W Headphone Amp. Yes. Six. Watts. RMS.
There are pleny of this particular tube type. My personal favourites are JAN Phillips, they are fairly cheap and have a nice clean sound. Also, Phillips SQs, a bit more ephoric then the JAN but they sound great! Other notable mentions are bugle boys...- Henerenry

just got WOO AUDIO 2 today, PLEASE HELP....
As your ears adjust to the wa2, the biggest test is trying to listen to your headphones without it. I normally find that I cant tell straight away from a back to back testing, but give me something long term, then take it away, and you really notice something is gone.- Henerenry

Solid State Vet Wants To Try Tubes For The HD 800 and T1!!
It all really depends on two things, the actual circuit design itself, and what you define as musical. I really like el34's for pentodes and 45's for triodes. Quote:- Henerenry
