YES!! Exactly what I was thinking, a Schiit Music server to really get all the ducks in a row.    In the mean time, curious what non-direct from cd format people think sound and work best going into the Yg.

I was speaking from direct observation of what a professional studio (They recorded Steve Winwood, Keith Richards, Roy Orbison etc.) back in the early '90s did. Perhaps the high level gear they used could handle being on all the time and consumer level electronics aren't built with that quality...

cable length is not your issue then. seems like you just got a lemon and hopefully the next one will just work. I know how frustrating this kind of stuff can be but if you really think about how incredible this technology is, its pretty amazing that anything works at all
