Got my D50 in yesterday and it's everything I hoped it would be and more. Really amazing performance for $200 (from Massdrop). Even based on relatively short listening periods with my Cavalli Tube Hybrid and HE-560 and HD600, I'd say it's easily the best DAC in my collection and performs well...

With the Eitr, you're not using the Mimby's USB input. The USB from your PC goes to the Eitr, and the Eitr reclocks it, regenerates it and outputs it as SPDIF/Coax, which then feeds the Mimby. It's just a way to get Schiit's USB Gen 5 tech for the Mimby and, as I said before, the Mimby's USB...

The Modi Multibit's USB input is measurably inferior to its coax input so adding an Eitr will provide a good deal of performance improvement. And I say this from personal experience. I'm quite pleased with the improvement over the USB and TOSLINK inputs the Eitr delivers.

I bought the Focus Pad As, which some say are a must to tame a treble spike and create a better seal to bring out the bass. Seems to work for me. I haven't tried anything else, because mounting the pads is a royal pain in the rear end though, so I can't comment on other potential pad replacements.
