    The HE5 brings out some more detail and space in my HE-500 I havn't tried it out much with anything else but I suspect I'll like it alot with a few of my other headphones as well, nice to have both solid state and tube now :D

    Moon Audio and ALO both make a cable they aren't cheap though griffen and incase also make some that are more affordable if you are looking to change just the look and not the sound sorry for the late reply.   Bryan

    I've only seen the blue and really liked the look of it.  It is pretty dark blue especially inside but pics up highlights well and gets sort of bright reflections in the sun.  Has a sort of thin powder coated finish.

    I use mine with my PS500 and Westone 2 they both sound great through it there is a bit of channel imbalance with the westones at lower volumes than I would ever listen too.   Bryan
