Your listing mentions a condition of "Good", can I assume that means you're not willing to pay "Excellent" condition prices?

I have a six screw version in excellent shape (lightly used), not a single scratch, that are unmodified. I have the original case, cables, and both sets of ear pads. Additionally, I have an aftermarket balanced cable (I can't remember the make, but not cheap). I'll throw in homemade XLR to...

Review by 'KlausGut' on item 'Sennheiser IE80'

These are a very good dynamic IEM, and when I say dynamic, I'm not just referring to the type of driver. The sound is very forward, very exciting at first, and I was immediately struck with the immense sound-stage. The drivers are very responsive and demonstrate better speed than I expected. If...

Best fun IEM? For movies and such

How about a left field suggestion that isn't an IEM? I'd recommend the Sony PFRV1. This contraption presents a fantastic soundstage that is particularly suited for movies. Not much bass and little isolation but very fun. Current prices are a bit steep though.

About to buy Monster Turbine pro golds. maybe copper?

Be patient. Prices continually fluctuate. Think of it like car shopping. If you lock onto one model, the dealer will screw you. Have four or five options. It's easy to buy a great pair of headphones, but so much more satisfying when they are purchased for a great price. Open box items from...

Westone Tour and Colorado Meet, August 7th 2011.

This was my first meet and I have to say my brain was energized. Good conversation about music (and the technology that assists in producing music) will always make the synapses fire like a teenage Somalian with his first AK-47. Easy now, it was just a joke. A big shout out to Westone for being...

That guy is an awesome technician, I'll have to look into more of his stuff and see whether his heart matches his hands. Thanks for the link.

How much difference does a portable amp make?

Look into your heart.  Sounds corny, huh? Do you really want a portable amp or do you just want a toy -- something new to learn about and experience? Or are you concerned you won't be squeezing every last tingling shiver from your Etys? Do you really want to lug around another hunk of metal and...

Westone Tour and Colorado Meet, August 7th 2011.

It's kind of nice to have the wife out of town -- no negotiating to attend. As a satisfied new owner of the #4, I'll be very interested in learning more about its design. Thanks.

Top 3 Universal IEM's (details in message)

It's not that fun and balanced are mutually exclusive... it just seems from reading this site that most highly respected balanced IEMs are not described as fun and vice versa. Although BAs seem more likely candidates than dynamics.

Westone Tour and Colorado Meet, August 7th 2011.

Is it too late to join the shindig (I'm showing my age)? I'm sorry I'll miss meeting the man behind DJ Yoda -- I've enjoyed your posts and my heart goes out to you, your wife, and family.    To all: My stuff is not real interesting, but feel free to check my equipment list and let me know...

What earphones do you use for different genre of music and activities?

-- Critical  listening: D7000 -- Singing to music: PFR-V1 or MX980 -- On foot or in the office: Monster Coppers -- Rock: Monsters -- Classical: ER4S with canal molds, but waiting for W4 to show up -- Sleep: waiting for W4 to show up -- I'm addicted to using the Sony PFR-V1 for movies...

Has anyone had this happenened to their Monster Turbine Pros?

No, the warranty is not transferable -- and isn't with most companies. I always laugh when people sell their stuff and state they have the receipt.

Review by 'KlausGut' on item 'Panasonic RP-HJE900 '

These were just the second set of IEMs I bought, the first being Etymotic's 4S about 10 years ago. This was my first purchase intended for portable use (with a Clip +). At first, I was blown away by the low end, not in comparison to a real headphone set up, but to my 4S plugged into a laptop...

    Sony PFR-V1 impressions/ mini review

Quote: Thanks.   Quote:     I'm gonna grab the grommets this weekend and then search around for some cloth to use for a full driver sock. Figuring out an aesthetically pleasing method of securing the cloth will be the hard part. I'm thinking just a few wraps of...

    Sony PFR-V1 impressions/ mini review

In which department of Lowe's would I find the rubber grommet? I picture a stoned mouth breather's expression when I think about asking one of their employees.

    Sony PFR-V1 impressions/ mini review

Check the case pockets for the foam socks. They make a huge difference in sound and comfort. I'd like to see a sock for the whole dang driver -- they're way too tinny for music.

Review by 'KlausGut' on item 'Sony PFRV1 Personal Field Speaker Headphones'

I love these for watching movies at odd hours or on the laptop away from home. They're so comfortable that I can wear them for 6-8 hours straight. Unfortunately, I find them totally unacceptable for music, though they're a better fit for portable use or the computer because of EQ. Several posts...

Yes, the pads fit the D7000. They are a beast to put on though.
