Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread
Sorry, really can't say anymore. Haven't listened to the 535 in a while since I got my Lyra II. Actually, my Lyra II, 535, Focal Clear and Meze 99 Classics are pretty much semi retired. Back to 2 channel stereo for now :)- MickeyVee

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
There are two sleeves and the memory wire is is between the two. Just removing the outer sleeve and pulling out the memory wire while leaving the inner sleeve worked for me. [with the camber that came with the Lyra II] Just need a pair of nail scissors and a small pair of pliers to pull the...- MickeyVee

Focal Clear headphones
I owned the HD800S for two years and went to the Clear. I wanted an HP that was more engaging and fun. Giving up a little detail and sound state with better bass and richer mids was worth the fun/engaging factor. Though I miss the huge soundstage at times.- MickeyVee

Focal Clear headphones
Personally, no. Wouldn't use the HD800S (too thin sounding) now that I have the Clear so I sold them. That's just me. YMMV. Have the Meze 99 Classics as my fun sounding HP when I want a change.- MickeyVee

Focal Clear headphones
Totally agree. Had the HD800S for about 2 years and found them lean in general. Got the Clear last week and although not perfect, their fuller body sound made it for me. Would love the Clear to have the soundstage/imaging of the HD800S but clearly Clear are more engaging and fun.- MickeyVee

Focal Clear headphones
OK.. quoting myself - after 6 years with the Sennheiser HD800 and then the HD800S, got a pair of Focal Clear yesterday. Let them run for a few hours and am quite pleased with them. Miss the crazy headspace of the HD800S but he the Clear are more musical, full and fun while maintaining nearly...- MickeyVee

Focal Clear headphones
CR@P!! Went into Hedphoneshop today to get a pair of closed back for my AK300 for when I don't want to run IEMs. Mostly for around the house. Always been intrigued by the Clear but never heard them.. until today. Ended up falling in love with the Maze 99 Classics for the AK but auditioned them...- MickeyVee

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
Benn using the AK300 for a while and went into Headfoneshop to get a pair of closed backs to use with it. Ended up walking out with the Meze 99 Classics and the SR-15. Wonderful combination for around the house. I love the AK300 but the form factor and UI speed of the SR15 is amazing. From my...- MickeyVee

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
Finally nailed it with the Lyra II and got it sounding and fitting in a way that works for me. First of all, with a little micro surgery, stripped off the memory wire and thanks to the suggestions in this forum, got the JVC SpiralDots. Thrilled with them running out of an AK300.- MickeyVee

Totally with you. Love my Lyra II's. Nice combo with the AK300 {and sexy!}.. just waiting for my Spiral Dots to come in.. Best thing I've done so far is to strip off the memory wire so fitting much better now :)- MickeyVee

I can definitely recommend the McIntosh MHA100. It's lovely with the HD800S and the bass boost is amazing. Just need 2.5db for me. Add in Sonarworks True-Fi and it's magical for all genures.- MickeyVee

Campfire Audio Vega (and Dorado and Lyra II) - Head-Fi TV
Hi all.. just got a set of Lyra II to try out CA. Coming from and still use my Shure SE535. After reading all the reviews I could find, I was expecting V shaped signature but for me, am finding them very well rounded. I was expecting to be wow'd but found myself listening to more and more...- MickeyVee

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread
I just got the Campfire Audio Lyra II. So what does that have to do with the SE535? .. we'll just for giggles I flipped the CA cable over to the SE535s and Holy CR@P, it takes the SE535's to a new level of extension across the spectrum. Truly impressive! So I ordered a CA cable for the SE535s...- MickeyVee

Sennheiser HD800 S Impressions Thread (read first post for summary)
First of all, congrats on the HD800S!! It's really a great headphone. Before spending any big bucks, I would suggest downloading the trial of True-Fi and see how that works on your current rig. It really work for me and I have the tonality and richness I was looking for. You may be surprised.- MickeyVee

Astell&Kern Announces the AK300 and AK Recorder (5.6MHz DSD Recorder) at Tokyo Headphone Festival
Yes, at least on a Mac - plug in the AK300, Android File Transfer sees both the internal and Micro SD as separate devices. Choose and transfer. I would assume that it would be similar on Windows.- MickeyVee

OK - I'll bite - why? - can you explain your 'Yes' and in what ways. I'm an HD800S owner with a pretty decent dac/amp {plus using True-Fi which adds body} and am really interested in the Clear - especially for use with my AK300 DAP.- MickeyVee

True-Fi Software by Sonarworks
Doing the rial now too with the HD800S. Loving the improvement. Interface needs a bit of work. Needs to stay in background and appear when called upon. especially in system startup. Overall great impressions and I'll probably purchase it.- MickeyVee

My system has been stable for the past four years or so. Just moved from the HD800 to the 'S', replaced the Sovtek stand with a Codia T1 so the pads don't compress and added a Teac PD-301 CD player with FM tuner. So, basically, have a mini-system on my home office desk. Not pictured are the...- MickeyVee
