Forza AudioWorks Impressions Thread
Hey folks, just wanted to do a super-quick review of the HPC MK2 - Turnover has been really quick, from order to arrival it's merely been four weeks. The Packaging has been pretty neat; the cable is in delivered in a cotton pouch with the FAW logo printed on. High-Quality print-job on the...- FlyingWing

Meet the Sennheiser HD 820
Well, if you REALLY like the HD 650 sound and don't hate IEMs I'd really suggest auditioning the Jupiter from Campfire, it's like a slightly meatier HD650. That is if the HD820 are not your cup of tea.- FlyingWing

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
Absolutely, even on low gain it gets super-loud. On high it sounds slightly more dynamic, those biocellulose drivers sadly don't scale that much. Another voice coil (300ohms) does wonders, see ZMF Eikon.- FlyingWing

Sure, but once both values are adjusted, how do you confirm it? Long press doesn't do it for me, optionally I can upload the whole process, but that wouldn't be practical- FlyingWing

Not sure if I'm just too stupid or if it is just a bug since I can't adjust the clock on FW 1.5 :deadhorse: Everything else (including battery life on lowest brightness) is pretty much astounding considering it's price.- FlyingWing

Far too much demand; globally, similar to the Xiaomi Black Shark handset. They try to not rush production which is BETTER for the people working at Shanling AND us in the end. I "can" wait till June/July - yet if I don't have to, I'm not going to try waiting for it. :)- FlyingWing

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
A few pages ago the Shanling rep. explained they've tweaked the swiping-gesture or will be tweaking it further because most people trying it did seem to use fast smartphone-ish swipes; yet the swiping gesture on the original (read: early) M0 UI was adjusted to be used with a gentle thumb-swipe...- FlyingWing

Well, I sure as heck do disapprove the unnecessary and baseless bashing of Jaben as seen above which somehow was implored by asking a mere question, as this thread does contain the reason why the global release is considered late may, thus it is no single retailer's, nor Shanling's fault - I'm...- FlyingWing

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
Someone else in here who pre-ordered M0 at Jaben.sg in early april/late march? Just inquiring because scheduled shipping was early may, yet on tmall.com it is available since a week or so. I sure want to give the spiritual clip+ successor a try, it should fit quite nicely in the Andromeda's case...- FlyingWing

Meet the Sennheiser HD 820
Yet... it absolutely WILL do just that. The HD 800 had a near-kilo ohm impedance spike at about 120hz. Since it's the same motor, you will need much more current than recent mobile solutions offer. Edit: Wait for a closed-back Utopia, you can actually sort of drive that one with mobile equipment.- FlyingWing

Sennheiser's new dynamic flagship?
Yup, as has been said before NO HD-800 successor, as that would have cost 8000USD - this by the way is the FIRST 100% price increase in Sennheisers HD-series since introduction of HD 800 in 2009. And there will be much more distortion than in a well-amped HD 600/650; although their sanity...- FlyingWing

Sennheiser HD820
Ever heard the HD 800 out of something that pumps more than 330mW into both of it's channels...? edit: I have no intent of being a d**k, but you should definitely try it, the used price is around 600USD as of now; the amp/dac it demands are now multiples of the HD 800 itself.- FlyingWing

Sennheiser HD820
He's gonna tell us soon enough, he's pretty busy- you shouldn't expect an open-back HD 800 Successor, as it >would< cannibalize HE-1 sales. HD 800 is already ultra-resolving as is in conjunction with an Iggy and some top-shelf EC amps.- FlyingWing

Sennheiser HD820
Well, this is going to get smashed really bad by the CFA Andromeda-Successor. Ken Ball IS going to design more interesting products than Axel Grell; at least if it's Plankton that you're after. But most people these days don't care anymore either way, which is why a low-impedance ring radiator...- FlyingWing

Massdrop PLUS Universal IEM
The MD Plus is super-intriguing, thank you for announcing these gems to the general public. I am wondering if, since Massdrop produces these by themselves; could there possibly be a shorter window of time than usual with MD when one hits the "order" button on the 10th. of October?- FlyingWing

It's got to stop!
It's great, really. No matter if you prefer planars, dynamics, electrostatics or plain iems, there is lots of greatness nowadays sub 1k$. Now we only need HD 900 and SR-10; then soon the HD 800 is as abundant as HD 650 and an Sr-009 as cheap as you can now get a Stax Lambda-Variation.- FlyingWing

Sennheiser IE 80 S impression thread
It's nice to see Sennheiser also release some new IEMs, else arch-rival Beyerdynamic would steal their show for dynamic IEMs. I expect the IE 80S to sell between 200 and 400 Dollars. Just where the IE 80 started.- FlyingWing
