I believe using an EQ and tweaking the frequency gains to your liking, would serve your needs better than an amplifier. 

UE900 has a relatively neutral sound signature, while the W3 has a energetic signature with emphasized bass and treble. I do think both of these IEMs will handle the aforementioned genres equally well.

I swear there's a price war going on with the W3s.    Not that I'm complaining!

Have you tried the P-series(long) Complys? I hear they help.

Sounds like a Atrio MG7 might be up your alley. Or the Yamaha EPH-100. Those have seriously powerful bass.   The westone 3s can be quite sensitive to source, meaning poorly mastered tracks or recordings will sound bad and harsh due to the transparency

Can anyone here compare the Westone 3s to the GR07? The current amazon offer for the Westones are really good, but GR07s are cheaper still.   I used to have a GR07 MK1, until it broke a while ago :<

After serving me for one and a half years, my GR07 Mk1 has finally died(right channel has no sound). I am now a sad man.

I also got the E10 recently. Not a night and day difference, but certainly it helps the transparency a bit with the GR07.

GR07 will have that sub bass you seek. It is present and can be pretty strong when called for but usually polite and non-intrusive.    

M50s make a good companion for your laptop and mp3 player.  

Well, I tried the E10 on my desktop, and the pause/freezing problem was non-existent. So it's probably my laptop's issue or a software conflict....
