Boy, does this thing need juice. Just for fun, I connected it to my Meier Corda Classic/Daccord stack (via the XLR adapter from the Hifiman), and for the first time I needed to use the high gain setting. And the amp got pretty warm, the plug was even hot when I unplugged it.

I just did. Albeit a very first test drive after only a meager 24-hour burn-in, but to put it simply: It's like my HE6se V2 on steroids, like there is more of everything. It even sounds more like an open headphone.

Wouldn't a Fiio Q7 be cheaper and work as well? Assuming you have an old phone in a drawer to use with it or use it with a laptop it should lead to almost the same results. But of course, portability would be much worse. (Which for me wouldn‘t be a problem, as I'd use it solely indoors.)

Or, like here today, all neighbors use the first sunny Saturday to mow their lawns football fields at the same time🙉.

That is exactly one of my use cases: Using them in the other rooms (= not my dedicated listening room) of the house.

I doubt there‘ll ever be a ‘more sealed’ version. Anyway, no headphone is really soundproof and starts leaking if you just turn it loud enough. Even the ones with ANC do.

But all the few recommended DAPs are flagship material and well in the four figures, some even more expensive than the E3. That would make a Mojo 2 a real bargain.

Well, I think I will at least wait a while before getting a Mojo 2. If at all. In the meantime, the E3 can get accustomed to my home amps, and getting a cable for my Corda Classic will take some time anyway. All that will be time enough to think about getting a Mojo 2 (or not.)
