Comparably sized PC speakers to replace my Edifier E25HD?
I've had my Edifier E25HD speakers for 5 years but unfortunately the left speaker has started to distort so I guess it's time to look for a replacement. I am space starved so I can't go much bigger (which rules out bookshelf speakers) and while I could import the often recommend Klipsch Promedia...- overhaze

Super (capacitor) charging your iFi Zen Can (and other zen products and possibly other manufacturers)
Hey Thor I saw a post over a Reddit where someone plugged the 15volt 500ma linear power supply that came with their Atom Dac into their Zen Dac. Amazingly it didn't instantly kill it an actually worked. Is using that power supply with the Zen Dac or Zen Can safe or even desirable? Did he just...- overhaze

Hey Thor can I ask is the Zen Can's worse than average crosstalk performance a side effect of the 3D filter? I've always had a hunch that was it.- overhaze

iFi audio ZEN DAC - EISA Award Winner 'Best Value DAC 2020-21!
On 7.4 and 7.4b any period of silence in a song (or anything else) will cause an audible pop when the music resumes. It's like the dac is putting itself to sleep on the silent bits and waking itself up for loud parts. The best test for this I have found is Stormveil Castle from the Elden Ring...- overhaze

The 7.4c firmware is also the only version of the 7.4 line that doesn't have audio popping problems. Of course that isn't a feature it's the absence of a bug.- overhaze

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
So here in the year 2023 what are the best option for getting my eyeballs vibrating? The only pair I own that can have the type of bass I'm looking for are my Modhouse Argon MK3s but getting them there requires pushing the volume way past my comfort level. I know it;s been discussed her before...- overhaze

Does the smsl Sanskrit 10th mkiii have the audio delay issue?
Just a quick question about something I haven't found from googleing. Does the smsl sanskrit 10th mkiii have the same audio delay issue as the MKII? I love the MKII for music but the random lag made it a pain for any other kind of content consumption. Does anyone know? Cheers.- overhaze

iFi ZEN DAC discussion + impression
Just a little niggle I have noticed on my Zen Dac V2. It can't switch between UAC2 and UAC1 without being powered down. Basically I can't just unplug it from my PC then plug it into my PS5 and expect it to work, I also have to disconnect it from the mains (I'm using an ifi power supply). It's...- overhaze

It's happening in every music player I have tried including foobar and JRiver. I'm using Stomeveil Castle from the Elden Ring soundtrack as my test track. The pops are present on v7.4 and 7.4b but not on 7.4c. None of the the 7.20 firmwares suffers from audio popping.- overhaze

I'm having a bit of trouble with my Zen Dac V2 on any firmware past 7.20. I'm having audio clicks and pops. I've had audio totally drop out once or twice and only got it back by plugging the dac out and in again. None of this happens with the 7.20 firmware. As an example I was listening to the...- overhaze

Quick question. Since the Zen Can only has balanced out and I have my Zen Dac connected to it via 4.4 pentaconn is there anything stopping me from just plugging my desktop speakers into the Zen Dacs rca outs? Would that degrade performance in any way?- overhaze

Hi I am trying to set up a HeSuVi with my SMSL Sanskrit MK II and I can't for the life of me get it working properly.
