The thing is, visually, there is nothing wrong with them. It's inside that they're broken. I take very good care of them.    I have a few $20 IEM's that I've used for many many years and treated like ****, and they're still going strong.

  I enjoyed the Ed-8 while I owned it but, except for the obvious isolation situation, the HD800 is better in every way. They are barely comparable. 

  I've owned 4 pairs of EPH-100 and they've all broken down in one way or another even though I'm careful. I take more care of these than I did with my HD800s since they're a lot more delicate. 

Just experienced the problem with the volume on one side going down noticeably. It went away after 3 minutes though. This is the first time this had happened to me after about 2 years with EPH-100's.

The consensus seems to be: wait until there are headphones between the LCD-2 and HD-800 but aren't quite the LCD-3.    Maybe Audeze's next pair will be the ones we're all looking for.    EDIT: I haven't been on here for a while, I'll go read the thread about the LCD-X or whatever they are...

Are you plugging the amp into a grounded outlet? Try moving the amp around your house to different ones to see what happens.    I also had that problem for a while before I realized what was going on.

Don't get the fakes. Get a pair of M50s if those are your options.
