    V-MODA VAMP: DEVELOPMENT/REVIEWS/PICS/ETC

My Classic 160 will not fit. It's a little too wide and, more importantly, too tall. The connector is too far off to make it work. Someone else will need to check on an 80, but I'm guessing it's still too tall.

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Comparing the actual listening experience to some of the earlier reviews of the HD 700s, it's just my gut feel but Sennheiser may have made some changes to these headphones since initial release. Not that I'm assuming that my case is any more than my own, but I find that they do get somewhat...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

Find my HD700 and HE-500 compliment each other very well. I keep both because between the two, I can listen to ANYTHING and love it. If possible, I'd budget for both!

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

I love my verza with my ipod classic 160gb. Holds my whole collection and sounds great. Just wish they made a touch with that kind of capacity as I would prefer the flexibility of the touch interface and EQ apps that the classic can't provide. Someday...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I had a pair of 650 and really enjoyed them. Got a silver cable and enjoyed them even more. Great cans. Got my HD700 and never listened to them again. The signature is definitely different, and I'd say that the 700 improve upon the 650 in every way. You should listen to them first as there is a...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I did the foam mod but used sticky craft felt from Hobby Lobby. Worked great. I also made a custom cord - I wanted to use it w my iPhone, so I bought a Shure iem cable w apple controls and put HD700 connectors on it (2.5mm mono plugs). Works like a charm and lowers the sibilance a hair. Between...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I've been spending a lot of my time recently with my HD-500 but just picked up an iPhone 5S so I pulled out the 700. I had completely forgotten how good they sound straight out of an iPhone. I'm not sure what DA the iPhone uses, but these cans just sound great! What a gift to own them!

I got a padded headband for it on amazon (I think it's listed for Beyers) and it's enough to make it work. I wouldn't mind putting it on a diet, though!

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

I'm going to move up to a 5S, take my 64G 3rd gen touch out of the car and attach it to the verza, and then put my 4S into the car (nice to have the gps if necessary). Amazing how the iDevices add up over just a couple of years. Not sure what I'm going to do w the classic yet, but the touch...

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

A 30-pin extension cable will plug that vamp into any older iDevice, so it's still very much alive. I use it with an iPad from time to time and it's great. I was thinking about taking it apart and removing the rubber iphone holder (or even cutting the lip off so that an iPod would dock nicely)...

iPhone / iPod equalizer app for best music listening experience

I have a slight imbalance between ears and I tried to use accessibility to do that. Unfortunately, the step size is too big and I can't get the levels where I want them. I wish iOS could be fine tuned better.

I've been keeping both my HE-500 and HD700 around for that very reason. Each fits it's own use perfectly and really covers everything I listen to.

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

not that this will come as a shock to anyone, but I just picked up a Microsoft surface RT and the Verza runs perfectly from it.  As a matter of fact, the driver installed without any sign or warning and I wasn't even sure it would work until I hit play.  Perfectly seamless. I haven't had a...

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

I'm a moderate volume listener and the Verza will drive the HD650 and HD700 to satisfaction. For my loudest listening, I got to around 75-80% of max. I listen to a lot of jazz/easy, but get into some classic rock and contemporary. The biggest problem I had were older recordings with much lower...

Where to demo headphones in Dallas?

Raqem, 2. I have the HD595 and wanted to want the HD650, but after hearing the HD700 I'm going to have to save some more money.... Have them and could never go back to my HD650. Highly recommended as a great pair of cans (especially with a good amp).

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

I have a VAMP and had the 650 - great combo. The only issue you'll have is if you listen very loud, you might not be able to get all the volume you want. You'd have to be listening VERY loud, though. I really liked how the "3D" setting worked with the 650- it added some nice sparkle to some tracks.

iPhone / iPod equalizer app for best music listening experience

I don't have any aiff, but it doesn't look like it. It seems to just pull from your iTunes library without any way of adding tracks of your own. Perhaps someone else will have a more informed answer...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I vote a little more low end than the HD800 while maintaining great "air" and easy (and less picky) to drive. It'll handle more bass if you send it (eq, for example) and always maintains a sparkle in the high end. When amped well enough (Vmoda Vamp, Magni), I haven't had any issues with sibilance,

    V-MODA VAMP: DEVELOPMENT/REVIEWS/PICS/ETC

With their customer service, I'm really surprised that they would inspect it and think it was ok. That's too bad, but I'm glad you have a happy ending. I think the vamp is awesome! I only use my verza more because its connected to my ipod classic and that holds all my lossless files. I'd still...

I have an AppleTv driving the magni and it's great. They pair well - very clear and crisp. More power than you'll use. The extra power helps bring out some low end that might be missing on lesser systems and balances nicely. I use it for late night movies and the explosions are excellent :->

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

I don't know what kind of battery Vmoda put in this thing, but I don't see them cheaping out when they've done so much with the rest of it. Decent batteries now should be able to get hundreds of charges before loosing retention, so I'm not too worried about it. Even at a couple of charges a...

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

Although it is "useless" while charging, the battery life is good.  I plug it in at night and the Verza and my ipod are charged by the morning and ready to go.  You'd have to listen a lot for it to become a problem.

V-MODA VAMP VERZA/METALLO: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Crowdsourcing Ideas

I found a small lowepro bag at best buy that fits my verza with iPod classic. It's snug, but good. Unfortunately, the belt loop is sewn on both ends, so no easy clip on/off. I'll look up the exact model when I get home. *******edit****** It's a lowepro Newport 30. It fits the verza w an iPod...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

smcginni, how much of a change would you say your custom cable made to how they sound? What degree? There is certainly less "sparkle" but not in a bad way. A little rolled off but overall less fatiguing. I wouldn't go so far as to compare them to my HD650, but it's enough to notice. I'm very...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I found this one at Mouser Electronics. It's seriously cheap, but works ok. I had to leave off the casing and just use heat shrink instead. And even doing that, I couldn't heat shrink to the top - had to keep it down to the bottom of the threads for everything to fit into the recessed jack of...
