Say goodbye to the Harman target(?).

This is probably oversimplifying things, but it seems like a temporary 'band aid' solution would be to just modify the Harman curve based on the differences between the measurement systems' response, given an identical test input signal? Sorry if this is basically what has been suggested above...

In retrospect, for A LOT of modern music. these are rather bland sounding. Not bad mind you, but sometimes you don't always want such an analytical sound.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Bought the Fiil t1x's. Will likely do a bigger review later. I'm pretty impressed, especially for $40. I mostly bought them because of convenience. The sound is pretty good but compared to my other headphones (NAD HP50 and KZ ZSN) these have some kind of spike in the treble frequencies that...

Usually but you can get cross-talk if the cables aren't shielded well

yeah you can see a continuation of this design with the HP70's.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Why are there so few measurements for all these budget TWS earphones? There are so many options on Amazon and the user reviews are of course all over the place and untrustworthy in general. Can anyone tell me which would be best out of Fiil t1x, SoundPEATS truefree plus, Bomaker sifi, mpow m5...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I know people disagree with me, that's why I said it was a persistent myth... Look, the fact that you think they sound dull and lifeless without an (external) amp regardless of what source you're using indicates a level of irrationality with this. An iPhone generally is a very high quality...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

lol this thread is 13 years old. I would hope at this point that the HD650's and HD600's have been characterized sufficiently. It is unfortunate though that I still see people propagate the myth that they need or benefit significantly from a headphone amp because that's really not true unless...

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

ahem https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R5NJF5W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews Be careful though. I wouldn't use these with any added foam mods as these are already thicker. I broke the headband on my HP50's from over-stressing them I think. Fortunately they...

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

I know you were asking other people but since I have 2 pairs of these headphones in front of me (mine and my friends), they both have the pleather flaking off. There are $8 replacement pads available on Amazon that I bought. They are slightly thicker too which is better for comfort. They didn't...

I know... it just takes some lube around the hinge.

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Also if anyone knows where to find a replacement internal cable (the 3 wire one that runs through the headband), I would appreciate a link. It appears to be a very specialized cable. Directly from NAD it would cost $45 with shipping.

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

I see some discussion here about how they changed the headband and can confirm that there are 2 versions of the HP50. Here is a picture of both side-by-side: I discuss the differences in the review I just posted for the HP50 (although it's a little late, since the HP50's are discontinued)...

Review by 'Eisenhower' on item 'NAD Electronics VISO HP50 Noise-Isolating Over-Ear Headphones'

These headphones have the perfect sound signature IMO. Mostly Neutral with some emphasis in the right places to liven up the sound (in the mid bass). Compared to my Sennheiser HD600s, the NAD Viso HP50 I think are better sounding for all subgenres of electronic music, hip-hop, and metal. The...

Great deal on great headphones (NAD Viso HP50 for $130)

In white, these are going for $130 on Amazon. You won't find a better and more versatile set of headphones for this price. Hell, at $170 they're still a steal. I replaced some Senn HD600's with these (I think I paid $160) and could not be more happy. I'm surprised these aren't more popular.. it...

    More bass than HD650

Check out the NAD Viso HP50 It reminds me of my HD600 but with more bass and better low extension.

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Finally replaced my broken Senn hd 600s with these. I am VERY pleased with my decision. Got them for $160 in red - feels like a steal to me. Hard to imagine anyone would dislike their sound signature (they're like the hd 600s in that way).

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Any chance you happen to know what how much replacements cost from Sennheiser? I did a DIY repair of the plastic headband, which cracked, because Sennheiser was asking for like $80 or something like that for a replacement. I'm wondering if the ear pads are similarly overpriced.

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

So the foam ear pads / covers on my HD600 have finally bit the dust after a decade (weird to think I've had them that long). One of them is ripped and they are both basically disintegrating.   I was considering replacing them for like $10. But is this really necessary? Do the foam pads really...

    Is the HD800 overpriced?

Quote:   Do you have anything important to contribute? The topic is about whether or not the HD800 is overpriced. Looking at some previous list price which no longer exists and making that conclusion is obviously wrong, and it has nothing to do with semantics.

    M50s overrated?

Quote:   They do 1/3 octave smoothing which is commonplace. This isn't 'correcting', it just removes small fluctuations so the slopes can be seen easier. It doesn't make them "unreliable" because those small fluctuations are inaudible. InnerFiedelity's graphs average together multiple...

    Is the HD800 overpriced?

Quote:     I read it, then I ignored it because it has no bearing on reality. They cost the same. Your insinuation, that Sennheiser is price fixing, is completely invalid.   Here are the official prices from their website: http://www.sennheiser.ca/live/senn/produit/en/1003...
