    High Bit-Rate Streaming Service?

Spotify offers 128kbps OGG for free, which is superior to MP3. If you're willing to pay 5$ a month, they offer 320kbps OGG, and they've got a pretty impressive selection of music.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

After my Brainwavz B2s broke for the second time, I think it's time to get them fixed yet again and just sell them off. So, What would be a good replacement? Something a little bit more warm would be nice, under 250$. How would the CustomArt Music One match up?

    Sennheiser HD-428 / HD-428s Modding Guide - January 2013

A while back I actually took a dremel to the internal driver cup (the one with the ports on it) and cut it off completely. With the bare cups and no internal driver cup, the resonance is insane, unbearably bad, and the bass is so much louder than the rest of the frequencies that it completely...

Your favourite "not the best" headphones?

It seems like I'm the only one here who thinks this, but they sounded horribly muddy and dark to me. There were maybe one or two songs they sounded great with, and those couple ones sounded better than any other headphones I've heard them on. I think it was just a case of being "smothered by...

Rockit Sounds R-50 Reviews and Impressions

Quote: Mid-200kbps MP3s tend to be transparent for the most part, it should be fine. It might be worthwhile to upgrade to a better bitrate there, but you probably won't see too much of a difference, even if you were to AB or ABX test the 210-224kbps against a 320kbps.

    First Pair of Headphones

V-moda M-80s. They're within your budget, sound good, are portable, on-ear, and sealed, they hardly leak any sound even when turned up to unlistenable levels. If you're not a fan of on-ears, I'd still recommend these as they have some of the best pads I've ever used, very soft pleather with...

Where should I go from here?

It's been a bit over a year since I've got into headphones, and I now have a Fiio E10 for my DAC, an E9 for my amp, and AKG Q701s as my main over-ears. I'm kind of an objective person, so I'm in the mindset that an E9 will adequately drive my current headphones, checks out as far as distortion...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

I must say though, these cans are absolutely beautiful with classical music. Definitely on par with or better than my 701s.   UPDATE- I'm starting to like these more than the 701s... I burned them in for a few hours with pink noise, and they have maybe 12 hours on them now. The bass has...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

Well, I just got these in the mail from Amazon. Amazon Prime 2 day shipping is so great  First impressions- They do in fact sound very open, almost as much so as my Q701s. I've been wearing them for about an hour and a half now, and I have no comfort issues at all, but I do have a rather...

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

Quote: The MSRP is something like 500$, but I never see them go above 280 on Amazon, I got mine in Used- Like New condition for 175$. If I end up liking these 550s, I'll probably return them when they cost less money and buy them again.

Even their gaming gear has some horrible build issues. Only Razer product I'd recommend would be the Deathadder mouse.

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!

So I just picked these up on Amazon for 270$, and I could swear I saw them for a LOT less earlier, but I unfortunately don't have time to wait for them to go down since I'm leaving for vacation, so I may end up returning them after and buying for less. That being said, how much do these...

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

Brainwavz B2 > Klipsch Image S4 > Hifiman RE-262 > Sennheiser CX-150   I hated the those Hifimans, though it could have just been that I didn't have a good seal with them, so my impressions are a bit off.

Best earphones for ~£50? Good bass and highs

MC5s would not be a good choice for dubstep, Etymotics tend to be a bit thinner sounding.   If you were willing to go with Klipsch again, the new version of the S4s came out recently, and they fixed some of the build quality issues they had with the last...

What about them is uncomfortable? The M-80s were incredibly comfortable for me, I'd assume similar for these ones (Though I hate how the M-80s sound).

There are a lot of fakes out there. I think you may have got one of them, unless you're just getting a bad seal. The S4s have too much bass IMO.

    Q701 impressions thread

Quote: I haven't heard much about those, I guess I'll look into those. After reading more about the HE-400s, those actually seem like a good choice. I tried the he-300s, and disliked them. They sounded veiled and like some cheaper cans. They did however have the most extraordinary...

    Q701 impressions thread

Hey Q701 gurus, I'm looking for something to upgrade to from the Q701s. I figured I don't need to upgrade my speakers since I can't use them all that much, so I started looking at headphones again.    Problem is, I don't have a huge budget, maybe 600 at the MOST and that would mean saving a...

Is V-moda M100 good for heavy music?

Honestly, I think m100s are a bit bass heavy for that, I'm not sure how accurate the bass is compared to the m80s, since I've only used those and not the 100s, but they seemed a bit too slow for faster metal. I like quicker bass for metal, but the mids on the 100s would be pretty nice for it.

Ultra flat response headphones with wide stage?

Quote: If the k701s are a bit too crisp or harsh at all, the q701 is supposedly better in that regard. I've only used the q701 here, but I can say that I think I cured myself of the upgrade bug with q701s and a E9/E10 combo.
