I just noticed I had a carry case for Audeze Penrose lying around, and figured I’d try it out with IO-12. While it’s definitely chunkier, it still fits into my backbag much better, and is easier to put in and take out of there than the IO-12’s own case.

Prepare yourself to be ready at the exact moment they come on sale, they go out in seconds. Managed to get one last year and it wasn’t easy.

+1. I also prefer AC over VC with metal. I think VC is technically a ”better” headphone, but I prefer AC’s sound signature. After years and years of listening to more traditional ”hifi” music, it’s been fun getting back to the roots and listening to proper metal.

My IO-12 has been shipped also, expecting to get them next week.

Thanks. To my ears Universe hybrid sounds like it would sit somewhere between Auteur lambskin and Universe lambskin earpads, so little bit like a mix of the two. Not as bombastic as Universe lambskin, but still retains those fun charasteristics.

Saw them yesterday, as well as Gojira, In Flames, Ghost, Jinjer, Lorna Shore and tons of other great metal bands over the weekend. The Hu was amazing live. Also, recommendation to Sennheiser SoundProtex. Nice to protect your hearing while still hearing the music clearly.

I was close to ordering Polestar 2, but the base model had some idiotic design choices like missing adaptive cruise control, but still having the buttons on the wheel for it (that didn’t do anything). Decided to wait for the EX30 reveal, and I’m glad I did.

I also jumped on the EV train and put an order in for the upcoming Volvo EX30. Not a huge fan of lacking physical buttons or driver’s dash, but otherwise it feels like a space ship compared to my trusty ol’ C30.

Orbea has some pretty steep prices, but my local dealer has good deals on them. Looking to get something in the 4-5k€ price range. My six month trial period comes to an end in October and I can get the bike then, so there should be some deals as the cycling season is ending.
