I love the shorter cable. I always felt too much length just got in the way. Overall, I am really loving my HF-2s.

Out of the "box" I love the mids, but overall these cans need a little burning in for everything else to smooth out a little. Can't wait till I get 50-150 hours on these cans.

Hey, I've got a new fav rig: Sony PCDP D-33/mSeed amp/Grado HF-1s. Really can't believe how good it sounds. I have compared the D-33 to my D-151 I bought at Goodwill for 7 dollars and to my D-NE330 and the D-33 sounds sooooo much fuller. I haven't even touched my iPod to compare the sound...
