The KGHV GG Stax Amp
I have a KGGG from Soren since 5 years, using it almost daily, never a problem. Highly recommended. I have tried few tubes, including Siemens and Mullard NOS, and my preferred in terms of cost/perf are the JJ 6CA7, followed by the SED =C=. but it will also depend on your preferred sound sig, SED...- phaeton70

iBasso DX300 Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core 6GB RAM ******NEW Firmware 2.00 Android 11******
with the old firmware that was the case, i.e. there was a fixed pregain (think was more than -6db) with both eq and peq, but unfortunately no more the case with the new fw's (not sure about the very latest one, still haven't tried). sure with peq there is definitely no pregain, I will try with...- phaeton70

iBasso DX300 Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core 6GB RAM ******NEW Firmware 2.00 Android 11******
@Paul - iBasso and anyone in the knows... I need to eq one of my IEM (EE EVO, really unlistenable w/o heavy eq), but I have found no way to apply a pre-gain with the Mango player inthe DX300 (fw 1.06.362), and there are sometimes very audible distorsions that disappears when I de-check the...- phaeton70

Rank the IEM's you've heard
time for an updated rank 1. UM Mentor Multiverse (love everything about these) 2. UM Indigo/MEST MKII (very good all-rounder) 3. QDC V14 (very nice details w/o being too analytical) 4. EE EVO (heavily eq'ed, only for EDM) 5. TA Oracle (love the timbre)- phaeton70

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
I just wonder how the hell EE managed to put all that stuff inside the shell.... I mean, EVO is missing the EST part (quite big, even with only 2 EST drivers there is still the eivec) and Odin is missing the W10 part (bigger than EST), and both are already very big IEMs.... anyway, finally I...- phaeton70

I'm on the hunt for a mid-priced full BA IEM, and my shortlist is including this 7U. given I like a bassy sound (good quantity of bass and sub-bass, but a more linear-ish mid-bass), clear and detailed mids, overall very detailed and textured sound sig, would you suggest 7U? what do you think...- phaeton70

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Since when I changed the stock FinalE tips with the Spinfit CP145 the EVO are growing on me in a really addictive way. With FinalE I found the EVO to be very good for EDM, but couldn't use them with basically anything else... too much basses (and somewhat not so much textured/defined), too...- phaeton70

Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.
well put. I'm in slightly different situation actually. have the MEST2, and had the Indigo on loan for a week. was the Indigo better? yes. was it 2x better? not even close (IMHO and to my ears only of course). so I decided to happily stay with my MEST2 and wait for a MEST3 - phaeton70

by any chance did you tried also Azla light short? how they compare with MAX? I fully agree MEST2 is really very sensitive to tips, can really go from meh.. to wow!! best so far for me are the light short, but I'm tempted by these MAX - phaeton70

talking about "listed materials", I think there is a difference btwn material cost and cable price. silver is around 600$/kg, gold is around 55600$/kg, palladium is around 65600$/kg. the seller indicates in the description "HiClass 4 Core 6N Pure Silver Gold Plated+Pure Silver Palladium...- phaeton70

only (very small) issue I have with the graphene 8 cores is the weight, actually is the heaviest btwn my cables.... but I love it, it's a very well balanced cable, with all freqs evenly treated. from Xinhs I can also recommend the 12 cores pure silver, very nice cable at a modest price. brighter...- phaeton70
