Thx for reply HeadStrong. Unfortunately those pads have inner liner made of perforated leather which cause peak in 10-14khz region... and the contact surface is made of velur instead of alcantara which simply is more comfortable... just sayin'

Ok one more final question... Did the cushions from 820 will fit the 800? Anyone knows?

They did it... again... Damn it!! First they've came up with the HD800 so I bought one... They are fantastic... I was happy... then they shows HD800s... I thought to myself oh crap! And now this? the HD820... God Damn it Sennheiser :)

  Well... You should listen to older rock recordings. I'm still finding a new sounds in old songs:) Old recordings sounds more analog-like and can brings you a lot of pleasure. Things get complicated with new "fancy'' songs... Welcome to the future

I think it is still too early for new model. They've made not so long ago great headphone amp with dac and balanced cable so... I rather say no. We gonna wait a bit longer for succesor of hd 800. By the way... HD 800 is still great piece of engineering :)

Yes that is prefectly right. HD 800 cannot fit every tastes but... I think they fit best with jazz, classic and some good rock recordings. They maybe not are the demons in terms of speed (especially lower bass) but kick bass and kick drums are really decent sounding on this cans. Trance and...
