Out of curiosity, did you try playing tracks out of the USB Audio Player Pro app (UAPP)? It bypasses the Android audio drivers and it honestly made all the difference in the world with my ZX-507.

SPL would say it would, but IMHO with an efficiency of 83.5 dB I'd say you're probably looking for a Schiit Mjolnir. If you're on a tight budget, 1st gen should get you great bang/powerrr for your buck!
