I plan on ordering from Sennheiser but I was wondering -- does anyone know if the B&W P7 cable works with the k545? I have the P7s on order and I know the headphone jack termination is 2.5mm. 

Could anybody link me to a good HD598 (HD500 series) aftermarket cable, 5-6ft in length, to use with k545s? I found some interesting options, but they are from China and by the time they get here the k545's return window will have closed. 

So, any HD598 cable would work with the K545s?

Thanks for that suggestion. However, looking at the picture, I'm not sure if it'll fit into the recess 2.5mm jack on the headphones. What do you think?

I just tried, no dice. A little pull out and the music comes out of my speakers. Shouldn't be any reason to pull out, this is not sex.   These sound a lot better out of my iPhone. The soundstage opens up to boot. Strange.

Thanks for the response. I just played a track on my MacBook Pro then on my iPhone 5 and the volume was louder and more engaging on the iPhone 5. This has nothing to do with the drivers, or the cable being defective. I maintain these iDevice cables are designed to sound better through iDevices...

I'm not too sure about that. I've noticed lower volume levels with iDevice cables that came with my other headphones.

  The Fiio E07K is Mac-compatiable ... a portable DAC is definitely something I eventually want to invest in but the 7520 were such a hefty outlay to begin with, at the moment I'm not particularly keen on a grander investment at the expense of portability.

Do you think there could be something wrong with the headphones? They sound good with the other cable but these are the only HP50s I've heard. I may sell them (once I get a new cable). I wouldn't want to move a possibly defective pair of headphones.

Thanks that's what I figured. Strangely, it always produces sound out of only the right cup, regardless of which ear the cable is plugged into.
