A low impedance at 20KHz is not huge concern for an amp, current wise, as power (hence voltage, hence current feed) at that frequency is very low. I'd be more concerned with phase, as any resistance within the feedback loop, paired with sub Ohm capacitive load, can create some trouble to stability.

Agreed, hearing responses and hearing preferences are two separate things. But could also be intermingled. Do I like "more highs" because I simply like more highs, or because they compensate my hearing deficiency on the highs? I'd tend to think the former, but it's hard to prove.

There has been studies (google for "subwoofer burn in") that showed that burn in altered the physical characteristics of the speaker. From there, to actually blind-testing folks on hearing differences, it's the usual "Ohh, hmm, meh, ...".

Not really 100%  ... as it is a per packet 16bit checksum. If you want close to 100%, you need to use stronger checksum-ing at application level. For Audio, it does not really matter, but if you are sending commands to a Mars rover (for which, you most definitely not use TCP anyway ) millions...

I don't carry that setup around. I have the iPhone and the E12 close to each other sitting either on my couch or a table. For carrying, I think you can bend the FiiO cable into shape, as many do when the pile the iPhone on top of the amps.

My setup. Lighting to 30 pin connector (which has a Wolfson DAC inside) plus FiiO cable. Can't really tell much of a difference compared to when fed from much more expensive DACs.
