Yep, the drivers just refuse to install. I have no idea what's wrong with it. Thanks for the link to the script. I've tried running that script before but it didn't do it for me. I'll give it another try with the init.d script. Thanks again!- aznpos531

Are you using a Lollipop based rom? I am on XDA but suggestions there have turned up empty as well. The V4A is from the official thread on XDA.- aznpos531

Looks like I might have to go that route after all. Flashed Imperium kernel and now soft keys don't work. In addition, even with a custom kernel with SELinux set to permissive, the V4A drivers still refuse to install. What a pain...maybe I'll try downgrading to 4.4.4 or a custom rom.- aznpos531

Most custom kernels will have SELinux set to permissive. Imperium Kernel is no exception. I'm just apprehensive about custom kernels as some can negatively affect things like battery life. If a kernel came with a recommendation I'd be more willing to try it out. Guess I'll give Imperium Kernel...- aznpos531

Which version of kitkat are you using? For my phone I'm thinking of using I9505XXUGNJ5, assuming the new bootloader plays nice with kitkat  Initially after flashing to Lollipop I wasn't overly impressed so I restored my 4.2.2 nandroid backup but the new bootloader from flashing to...- aznpos531

Tried both and still no dice. Even tried freezing Knox with Titanium Backup but SELinux mode changer doesn't seem to work. After installing and granting root access, tapping the permissive mode doesn't seem to do anything. getenforce still returns enforcing. Getting desperate here =( Edit:]...- aznpos531

Unfortunately that script didn't do the trick for me. I've confirmed that the device is fully rooted and busybox is installed correctly. Not sure what's wrong. Any suggestions?- aznpos531

Has anyone running stock TW 5.0.1 been able to get V4A to work? I'm having trouble installing the drivers. Can't even seem to set SELinux to permissive. I was forced to upgrade to 5.0.1 and so far it's been nothing but a royal pain.- aznpos531

Android phones and USB DACs
I don't think many are still using the SGS4 anymore and think even fewer are still running stock 4.2.2 but in any case I would like to report that the ALO International+ (non-optical "android friendly" version) alas does not work natively with my S4 running 4.2.2. :( Works just fine with UAPP...- aznpos531

I've found this to be the case as well. Interesting bit: one time I left the Cozoy Astrapi plugged into my S4 and even though no music as playing, it drained the battery completely in a couple hours.- aznpos531

I don't think the position of the drivers is of any concern; I think the person assembling the IEM fits them in as good a configuration as they can. Did you have your A12's reshelled?- aznpos531

I happen to have the Samsung S4 so I guess I'll get the OTG dock and see if it works. If not I'll get the Qi dock and see if it works. That that fails then I guess I'm SOL - aznpos531

So the OTG function is shut off while charging. How disappointing... Not really an issue of compatibility in my case. My intention is to charge the phone while it's connected to a DAC via OTG. Looks like I'll need to look into those Qi chargers.- aznpos531

Yes I realize that they are essentially the same thing. What I'm asking is whether it will allow me to use my phone with a DAC while charging.- aznpos531

Toronto / GTA Fall meet. November 15
Going to make an effort to rearrange my schedule to make this one. If I'm able to make it I'll bring my Sony PHA-3 and a pair of HiFiMan HE-500 with dual 3.5mm balanced cable. Someone will need to supply a source to connect it to though; don't feel like lugging my laptop. I'll also bring along a...- aznpos531

Have any of you tried those OTG charging docks like this or OTG charging cables like this? I'm thinking of getting one to see if I can get it to work with some home-use DACs.- aznpos531

Android phones and USB DACs
Might have been mentioned already but I recently obtained the Oppo HA-2 and it works beautifully with UAPP but is not supported natively on my Samsung GS4 GT-i9505 running stock Touchwiz 4.2.2 :( On a related note, anyone know where I can get a 90/90 shorty OTG cable (micro-B to micro-B)? BobFiggins Thanks for your thoughts on the A4. I was considering the A3 as a gift to someone so I was curious to hear what people thought of the A3 and A4. Do you think the issues that you ran into will be addressed by the manual ADEL module?- aznpos531
