Of course it does. Tonight, Susvara sound particularly good from Ultimate with Philips E80CC and EL38. I am rather surprised that the amp seem to sound even better after one year. I just love this amp's performance so much. A tone that moves you and connects with you.- UntilThen

It's great. Hard to evaluate when all the drivers are good. :relaxed: I'm using Philips E80CC SQ with EL38 now. This thread seems to love the E80CC. https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/e80cc-comparison.34935/- UntilThen

Tidied up. I'm getting a bit more organised. Easier to find my tubes now. :relaxed: There are some that are not shown here. Drivers and power tubes separated.- UntilThen

Using Mullard 6201 PQ with EL38 now. That's the tube on the right. Haven't tried this for a while and it's a pleasing sound. So many drivers and power tubes. Just change often. Says Made in Holland. The H has been rubbed off. Got a pair new from a friend.- UntilThen

Tube and solid state amps will never sound the same no matter how you mod the HD650. I've have a whole range of ss headphone amps before I gave them up for good and I did the whole shebang of modding HD650 following Purrin's method.- UntilThen

It should work because it's made to emulate the 807 and you have an adapter made for KT66.- UntilThen

@Deleeh your first picture of the EL38 with the double O or Halo getters at the bottom is exactly like mine. I'm just using it now with 6S3P. Eric is going to pass me 6S45P and adapters to try. The adapter goes on the 6S3P adapter. Whilst I like to try quad c3gs sometimes, I won't use it all...- UntilThen

I thought that was a typo error. :relaxed: I've not heard of KT8C until now. Apparently the British Services abandoned it in favour of the American 807. KT8C is cheap but I'm not going to try another power tube. I've 2 amps powered on now. One has EL39 and the other KT88. Life is already too...- UntilThen

The 5b/254a is essentially a classic 807 in a small straight glass with a smaller top cap. Again I want to hear the difference between 254a and 254m if there's any. Who said that? Langrex. :relaxed: 5B/254A Valve Tube = 5B/254M with a UX5 Base- UntilThen

The only way to find out is with my ears and I don't take much notice of that article because the ATS25 sounds superb. Much better than the Radiotron and Sylvania and the russian 807. I've also bought these small size 807. Waiting for the adapters to arrive.- UntilThen

All the L63 has is H and 9 so I guess it's 1952 and September. The A2900 has 7418. So I guess it's 1973 but what is 18? A new month? and Z for Hammersmith. I'm starting to sound like a nerd reading date codes.- UntilThen

Re my KT88, this is how I interpret it. One of them is 'XC Z' - X is 1966 ; C is March and Z is MO Valve Co. Hammersmith.
