I wonder if there is a mod to acoustically attenuate 3kHz region by approx 1dB, it's not a fault per se, but it's probably the only region that sticks out.

:thinking: 2000 hours of 8hr daily use seems fair for any kind of pads. Also I replaced them not because of wear, but due to the fact I managed to get a new pair for free. The feel was different on the new ones for sure, yet the old pair would keep going as usual

roughly same sound here on all 3 pairs, same mods, first one sounded initially different after 2000 hours, but new pads fixed it

For me, Dt250-250 are amongst the easiest to drive HPs, so much so, that I use them even unamped straight from DAP/Audio interface

Of course, they blossom with time :gs1000smile: 3 years in, 2500 hours, and still my most favourite pair of HPs, and I have tried many others, even several magnitudes more expensive.

Channel imbalance? No. It'll either work fine, with both sides connected properly, or not work at all. Not sure how this 6pin connector looks like, but the pinout used to be listed in service manuals.

Yes, the screw is essential for proper bass isolation in left channel. Put some electrical tape under it for better effect. Better still, put cellulose sponge on the pins of the connector to ensure proper seal.

Yes, with the sensitivity in the picture, it's much easier to make accurate estimates. 600Ohm at 105dB/mW is going to be actually louder than say 55Ohm at 88dB/mW, and those 55Ohm . As with DT-250, 250Ohm, their sensitivity is actually 100dB/mW, so a typical 0.5V source (phones, mp3 players)...

I'm using only Opus on my Zip for over 3 years now. Can't think of one good reason why other manufacturers don't feel quite keen on implementing it. It's fully open-source, unlike AAC, and the only lossy fomat worth keeping. 99% of my portable collection is in 140kbps Opus.
