Review by 'audiophilefan' on item '1More SonoFlow'

Got no complaints using this product. everything is working. The build feels premium with no creaking and reinforced by a metal headband. Click adjustment is tight and precise. My only nitpick is the position of the Power/Play-Pause button (at the front of the right earcup). It takes some...

@zning95, to say that I apologize and this is a late reply is an understatement. I left the hobby even before the pandemic hit. I haven't logged in and checked my account since about a few months ago. In general, I found KZ's build quality to be sub-par. I believe I returned one or two for...

Review by 'audiophilefan' on item 'Philips Fidelio X1'

THE STORY I started falling in love with music since I was a kid. Back in the day, we're talking around 1995 onwards, been buying tapes and CDs, collecting music. Enjoyed the old Walkman, the old Discman, the old iPod, the old Fiio X1, a hi-fi smartphone, and now my old and trusty Fiio M11...

@AkuZaku DB3 is still better, especially for gaming. It has a more accurate soundstage. 😊

@AkuZaku - Haven't tried the ST1. I tried the ZSNs and though generally they sound good, the plain ZSN being the most "neutral" among other KZs, they still sound "metallic" and piercing at higher volumes. Plus either the IM2 or the DB3 are better built. Still DB3 for me. One of the best out...

@AkuZaku - The DB3. Sounds more "correct" to me. The IM2 is bassier (if you prefer that signature) but doesn't sound as natural or detailed. :)

Help name our next budget fi addition in product line!

What's the next best thing to a Spaceship? A Space Station. Name it the Space Station Dynamo (SSD). Dynamo is a play on "dynamic" as characterized by "introducing a moderate bass boost to get warmer, more energetic signature." That's it. Let's go home. Hahaha!

[New update]The FiiO Music App v1.1.9 for Android and X5III/X7/X7MKII update now!

Seems resolved from a new OTA firmware I installed a few days ago (1.0.9). Thanks!

[New update]The FiiO Music App v1.1.9 for Android and X5III/X7/X7MKII update now!

@FiiO With this latest version, there's this issue that it automatically detects when headphones are plugged and starts playing the moment you plug them. It's somewhat unerving because it's dangerous if you have set the volume too high (e.g. line out to an amp), and then accidentally plug...

A firmware patch to enable Google Play store in M11/M11PRO/M15 based on the SoC used--Samsung 7872

Precisely. If they are pointing to an official Google site to get registered, what they did is 100% legal. I registered my device and the site would've blocked my device ID if it isn't recognized as a Play Store certified device. My suggestion is to let Fiio worry about the legalities and start...

A firmware patch to enable Google Play store in M11/M11PRO/M15 based on the SoC used--Samsung 7872

Oh well, it's working now. But I have the apk for version 4.16.4, which is the latest version that M11 accepts (still not taken from Google Play). :)

A firmware patch to enable Google Play store in M11/M11PRO/M15 based on the SoC used--Samsung 7872

Just discovered that after the update, can't log-in to Netflix anymore. Not that it matters to everyone, but just in case people use their Fiios for this purpose, just letting you know. Also can't search Netflix in Google Play (most likely because the current version is not supported by the...

A firmware patch to enable Google Play store in M11/M11PRO/M15 based on the SoC used--Samsung 7872

Works like a charm. Just downloaded the zip file (no need to unzip it), accessed it via Technical Support and it installed quite fast. So far, the Play Store detected all the apps I installed via APKPure, EXCEPT for Fiio Music (did not even appear in my Installed apps in Google Play). I cannot...

NiceHCK DB3 - New Year's Resolution BACKGROUND I wanted a small gift for myself last Christmas. Well it was November so it's an early Christmas gift. And since I haven't bought anything audio for quite some time, I decided to check around Youtube for some budget finds. The reviewer Zpolt put...

They're built really well. I think they'd hold up with "accidental" stepping. It will be very hard to trample them. :)

That's alright. Goes down to personal preference. If I had $200, I'd still pick an over-ear, any day all day, open or closed. And yes, it's also anatomical. Also, isolation. Isolation is an IEM's blessing or curse. You could argue to be hearing more but to some people, including me, it's...

Agree. It's a hobby. And as such, enjoyment is not tethered to price. You can find enjoyment anywhere, at whatever pricepoint you are comfortable spending on. I would say that going for something like Westones is a great investment ESPECIALLY for professional use. If anything, higher price...

Oh by the way, the IM2 is not veiled. They're just inoffensive. You can listen to them for hours. I own one. Try different tips, even foams, to get the sound you want. If you decide to grab one, I don't think you'll be dissappointed for what you'll pay. They complement the aggressive headphones...

The point of diminishing returns for IEMs is $50, a price point where the likes of the Tin T2 and TRN V90 comfortably sit. Those are the best examples of absolute value for money (metal build, good enough cables, good tuning). If you start to tread the $100 mark then you hit the likes of the...
