You are correct. I had it plugged in when I used it and assumed that I was charging some battery but when I unplugged the USB I realised that the device has no battery :P

  I am almost 100 percent certain that you are looking at 24/192 for the magni/modi (whichever one of those is the DAC). There is an addon box for $149 that upgrades the DAC to DSD (native) capabilities.

  You would prefer bright to warm? I am more inclined towards warm. I am by no means an anti-brightite. I like it just fine, but given the choice I will take warm every time. Glad you enjoy your unit. The Asgard, which is a step or two up from the stack, is quite bright, but not annoyingly so.
