Yeah, it's a Blackwood Auteur and the cable is a Silvergarde S3 in black//black & dark grey (herring bone) with wenge wood splitter, Eidolic gunmetal 4-pin XLR termination, and black heatshrink gloss on the Eidolic mini-XLR headphone connectors (left channel blue, right channel red).- jermaink

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread
After an inquiry about cables to Trevor 15 months ago and a long decision making process, I finally picked up my Silvergarde S3 this morning! Took some quick pics from my phone, but I can't wait to give them a proper audition.- jermaink

Micro iUSB3.0 Impressions Thread
I'd be concerned with long term use using a higher voltage power source. Excess energy is usually discharged in the form of heat and will put additional strain on components. Don't assume that short term functionality is equal to long term safe operation and product longevity.- jermaink

Any comments about how they pair with your amps? I've got a Violectric V281 as well, so I'd be interested in what you think about that pairing.- jermaink

iFi audio iDefender3.0 (Official) - Ground Loop Eliminator
It was actually the iUSBPower 3.0 that wouldn't function properly without USB bus power. I think maybe something to do with USB3.0 specifications (can't quite remember).- jermaink

iFi audio iDefender3.0 (Official) - Ground Loop Eliminator
I'm wondering if the iDefender3.0 can be used before an iUSBPower 3.0? I previously used a Vbus2 (removes USB power) before my iUSBPower 2.0, but when I switched to a iUSBPower 3.0 my chain would not work with the the Vbus2 present earlier in the chain. Would love some clarification. Thanks!- jermaink

Is there much of an impact on sound quality? I know that some headphones require a good seal around the ears or they start losing impact in the lower frequencies.- jermaink

I'm wondering if anyone has images which clearly differentiates the 'Blackwood' version from the 'Teak' version, and whether it is possible to choose between black/brass grille/rods in either version (or is brass only available with the Blackwood?- jermaink

Violectric HPA V281 - Vorsprung durch Balanced (September 2023 Update: Limited Reissue Edition up for preorder!)
I've got a naive question: Are there any issues when simultaneously using the 6.3 mm output jack at the same time as XLR headphone port? Basically, powering 2 headphones at the same time?- jermaink

New Head-Fi Update
I also strongly dislike the changes. My main gripes are that viewing thread subscriptions and private messages is far more difficult. Also losing 'trader feedback' and 'classified bumping' isn't great. Overall I don't see any improvements over the previous design.- jermaink

UpTone Audio USB REGEN
Can an iFi iPower 9V/1.5A be a suitable 'energising' supply for the UltraCap LPS-1? It is apparently a tad shy on the recommended current. I guess it also depends on the amount of current drawn downstream..- jermaink
