iBasso IT01 a fun IEM. Single multilayered graphene driver. !! 99 USD !!
Nice work. Soldering is usually the weak point with any cable. Hopefully yours was a one off and not typical, because sound cut out doesn't seem to be a problem with these. I imagine if it were, IBasso would take care of their customers. I have only ever experienced one cable failure and...- dlayman

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
From 30 years experience in technical manufacturing, it simply is never a good idea to outsource anything to a competitor. It leaves you at their mercy. I wonder how much, if anything, Shanling and Cayin etc knew about Hiby's hardware plans. Now I love my Shanling M3 and Cayin N3 but these...- dlayman

Shanling M2s Hi-Res DAP with AK4490 + MUSE8920, Bluetooth, & USB Out
Shanling is at Hiby's mercy for this, and timing is up to Hiby. This is why I'm glad to see Shanling's new offering is using in-house software. Nothing against Hiby, but complete control over your product is always a good thing.- dlayman

Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6
Agreed. If I were a DAP maker like say Shanling or Cayin, I would want the software and firmware under my control. Don't get me wrong, Hiby has functioned well with various devices for the most part, but it's hard to be a supplier and a competitor at the same time. One's own product is...- dlayman

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
This isn't a comment specifically about the R6, but why do people feel it necessary to post many, many glamour shots of DAPs or IEMs or other gear? Once I see that, I tend to dismiss both the device and the person posting them, it looks very very fishy. It seems like backhanded advertising...- dlayman

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!
I can really understand the frustration of backers, it's a bit disappointing on Hiby's part, but the delay is miniscule to people who suffered through the Echobox debacle and other campaigns. The Explorer wasn't days, weeks, or months late, you can measure the delay in years! And Echobox had...- dlayman

New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player
Cayin is having problems with USB out on N5ii and commented they have been trying to work together with Hiby to solve, but can't commit to a timeline due to Hiby. Hidizs may be in a similar situation. Really today I wouldn't want to commit to a player that isn't fully developed if it relies...- dlayman

New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player
Isn't the software handled by Hiby? Hiby is pretty busy with their new players. Support for other makers' firmware may not be as high a priority.- dlayman

New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player
Sounds bad. Doesn't sound like Hidizs is doing well the the AP200. Despite some "reviewer's" posts. Glad I didn't back this. Already got burned by Echobox.- dlayman

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
It sounds like you've had a very bad experience. DAP makers in general have a bad record of support. Cayin is better than most though. I haven't been happy with Echobox or Shanling. I would say to try to contact @Andykong as he is very helpful and wants to do what is right.- dlayman

Periodic Audio IEMs Mg, Ti, Be, C
I'm interested in the Mg, but it's hard to come by much info as most reviews and such focus on the Be. Any first hand experience with Mg that anyone can share? Interesting about the polycarbonate shell. I never gave it much thought but my two favorite IEM's all time are the Audeo PFE and...- dlayman

New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player
Audio out over USB would work for your set-up. From the product description on the campaign, they seem to indicate a dedicated line out utilizing the headphone jack. That would seem to imply bypassing the headphone amp.- dlayman

New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player
It is possibe, but the hardware has to be configured properly to do so. If the hardware is there, I can't imagine why it wouldn't already be working. If the hardware layout isn't in place, a firmware update isn't going to give you a true line out. I haven't seen a block diagram of the unit...- dlayman

New Hidizs AP200 double DAC Android-based smart music player
Regarding the line out, if its something implemented by firmware, is it really any different than just maxing out the volume? I assume it doesn't bypass the headphone amp stage.- dlayman

No problem, I just didn't want you to purchase something that doesn't have a feature that you thought it did. I have an N3, use it as a standalone player and I really like it. Great sound and power for the price, battery life is excellent. Hiby Link is a necessity with the player, otherwise...- dlayman

iBasso IT01 a fun IEM. Single multilayered graphene driver. !! 99 USD !!
Having never heard the IT04, I have to say that nothing I've seen or read here suggest the IT04 is overpriced. Obviously a lot of work went into researching, designing and tuning them. Getting 4 drivers per shell to compliment each other is no easy task, and crossover networks are needed...- dlayman

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
That sounds like faulty behavior to me. I assume you're sure you are powering down completely, getting the "farewell message" from the player. I don't lose any battery powered down overnight. Also i seem to remember that when charging thee player, it goes into standby when disconnected, which...- dlayman
