Have you tried the driver these guys supply? Given that they still seem to be selling the CDM, perhaps their driver will work for you. I now their Windows 10 DSD driver works.......- mw7485

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
I run my V30+ wifi off almost permanently, and with no SIM so there is no way for UAPP to verify the license. The only time I turn wifi on is access a samba share or to update UAPP, so I can go for weeks without connecting and have had no verfification issues. I do remember though, that it did...- mw7485

Perhaps you ought to read the data sheet for the Wolfson DAC in CDM. It does have the capability to decode a DSD64 stream. And as to UAP - Oh ye of little faith:- mw7485

Here's a question to anybody using the ALO CDM to listen to native DSD(64). The developer of UAPP is trying to get native DSD working from within UAPP but is running into issues. Has anybody got native DSD(64) working on the CDM on any hardware? If so, what hardware/software/drivers were you...- mw7485

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
I pointed this out to Davy a couple of weeks ago but didn't hear back. The Network view has a similarly skinny and useless vertical scroll bar, so there is a lot of finger swiping for my Samba shares.- mw7485

Power Saving? On my LG V30, I've got power saving on, but I exclude UAPP from it. Can you do something similar with the S10?- mw7485

I think you would have to be a bit more specific about which Android based player you were looking at. However in general, I think you would be hard pushed to find a better sounding Android device at the sort of price you can pick up an LG V30, with the sort of connectivity flexibility the V30...- mw7485

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Any of the models you list will sound good - but you are asking your question in the Shure thread :relaxed:! The Shures have the big advantage that you can customise the sound through the use of the supplied filters. This fine tuning is really useful as we all perceive sound slightly...- mw7485

In case you encounter something similar again (or change the filters), you should assemble by aligning the mark on the metal nozzle with the corresponding mark in the female part of the mmcx connector (mine have red marks), because the nozzle is actually keyed. You'll know for definite when its...- mw7485

This "UK post" is currently running at about 30% undermanned due to Covid-19, whilst still trying to provide a service that in terms of volumes, is far in excess of Christmas - all whilst trying to social distance with each other and our customers. Nothing wrong with the V30 as a DAP at all; its no slouch - and you can pick them up pretty cheaply now. I came from a much more expensive DAP (the "golden" one) to the V30 as the V30 has much better USB out options. You can configure the V30 with maximum power saving options for stellar battery...- mw7485

...if you can find one! I think they're great little things. The DAC may well be considered "out of date" by many, but I don't find myself wishing I could listen with something that has more up to date silicon inside. Battery packs, tubes and mains adapters are all still sold by ALO. I guess...- mw7485

Nice objective viewpoint. Suggest you bin the political claptrap, it does you a disservice. What MQA has to do with brexit, and brexit has to do with portable audio is beyond me.- mw7485

Yes. Set the eq to whatever you want then, with the equalizer on display, tap the three dot menu in the top right of the screen. Select Save Preset, give your eq settings a name, and hit Save (or it could be OK, I haven't used eq in quite a while :)).- mw7485

Totally agree, although the wires do come pre-tinned and the live terminal has a protective plastic sleeve over it which should only be removed immediately prior to soldering. The other danger is shorting the live terminal against the chassis via the soldering iron - definitely a job for a...- mw7485
