onkyo and pioneer models have high output impedance. i don't know your iem's impedance but take that to consideration. zx300 has 1.6 ohm at balanced. wm1a should be lower than 1.

forsteni has more treble, sibilant, lesser subbass then it03 but better midbass impact.

even ak70 mk1 kicks x5's ass. i demoed mk2 briefly and it had slightly better and darker sound.

borrowed ifi idsd black label from a friend. idsd has a really nice synergy with r2a. r2a already has nice soundstage but idsd expanded it further. currently listening interstellar soundtrack. it's a special experience really.

you need balanced amp and balanced cable.

i'm not %100 sure but 4497 should draw really big power. not so suitable for portable audio. imo 4490 is a nice dac and amp stage is more important.

i have zishan z2 and imo it's in the same league with shanling m2s. z2 has better treble extension.

i just received burson v5i and can't recommend enough. delicious and impactful bass and a little rolled off highs. currently using it with zishan z2.
