The leather case is top-notch! I will give it 90 marks. Ten marks are deducted for using font Comic Sans on the metal grill again. I beg of you, @Andykong, don’t use Comic Sans again! 😂- Cheaplad

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
Hi @Andykong I get my N3Ultra today 😁 and I like it. But one question about the music scanning. Is there a button or setting for me to scan music files of smaller size or shorter length? I could not find a song which last only lasts 50 second.- Cheaplad

I only played around the Classic mode (because I really like the sound), but not so much about the Modern mode. Modern mode is to me clearer and the bass is a tad richer but Classic mode is of more lust. Zx-707 is comparatively more detailed and is perhaps having a wider soundstage.- Cheaplad

Had a short audition today and here are what I like (using my Elysium): - the warm sound of the Classic tube mode - the damping of the mechanical volume dial is better than that of N3Pro (but I think the grip of N3U can be better) - UI is smooth - the monitor size - the mobile phone...- Cheaplad

RS2 with full-size cans day! Love the warm-ish sound of RS2 and the details of Ether CX. RS2 has all the juicy to run it (Vol 62 in high gain)- Cheaplad

You really need some time to get used to the small screen with your big thumbs man. Your comment on the mid is spot-on - the vocals on it are wonderful. (So do your photos) Hope you share views on it with ie 600.- Cheaplad

Hiby has released firmware version V1.02 for RS2. Some bug fixes only. https://store.hiby.com/apps/help-center#hc-how-to-upgrade-the-rs2 Note: You need to put the “RS2.upt” file into the SD Card slot one but not the slot two, otherwise the player will not be able to locate it.- Cheaplad

Hey what I said about their soundstage is just in a relative sense. My IE600 may also contribute what I described "smaller soundstage". You may need to test RS2 yourself to see if it is (not) your thing.- Cheaplad

One thing I find it unfathomable is that the retail price of RS6 is roughly 2.5 times of RS2 but, sound-wise the difference between the two is not that big. RS6 is more technically competence in, I think, the soundstage and micro-details (i.e. the technical department). Yes RS6 also can...- Cheaplad

I am not a metalhead and don't have many metal tunes but I did test RS6 and RS2 with Judas Priest's Painkiller and Iron Maiden's 22 Acacia Avenue. First off I think RS2 is by not mean soft or polite. I even think RS2, in low-gain, is more dynamic than RS6 in mid-gain. But the soundstage of...- Cheaplad

I mean you need to test it first. It is not for everyone. Not for those who prefer a bigger soundstage….. or men or women having bigger fingers. One small note about the small screen. I have a 256GB micro-SD full of music (6,000-ish) but since I use the album view to scroll through my music...- Cheaplad

My not-so-critical comparison with RS6 and R3 Pro as transport in a few words Using VE Ext, Sennheiser IE600 Soundstage: RS6 is much wider and RS2 is more initimate Vocal: RS2 is closer but it does not sacrifice the transparency for showing the instruments in the background. Good for female...- Cheaplad

Auditioned RS2 alongside my RS6 and R3 Pro and hated what I heard….. The reason I hated what I heard because it clicked all the boxes that a DAP should achieve: - compact and small footprint - R2R - no all other non-sense like Android, streaming, Bluetooth - Fit well with Mojo2 - it comes...- Cheaplad
