I tried em as you suggested: To be honest, I actually prefer the headphones with the Clear pads. The clamp is a bit tighter with the original pads, which aren't as squishy as the Utopia ones, and I also found the treble to be a little peaky / unrefined with the Utopia pads. Once you go back...

I haven't tried! I'm not much on pad-rolling but I do own the Utopia - I'll give it a shot when I can

I have the blue ones as well and assumed like they were all like that - big plasticy metal brushed aluminum across the top. The black and white (non-limited) options look like this though: Faux leather all the way around! CRAZY TOWN

I just tried these pads and am sorry to say that they're not a great improvement. As someone else said here, they elevate the treble and deep bass, but lessen the impact in the mid bass and mute the mids and vocals region. I was able to slide them overtop of the earcups themselves though, so...
