A quick FYI for those who've not tried it, but if you're using the ZX300 as a BT DAC the buttons do actually control the Play/Pause, Skip and FF/RW on your source (an iPhone in my case). Interested to know if people using android can confirm all of the controls work for them too.

I made a cable this weekend with that very plug. A little fiddly but gives a solid connection and sounds the same as my original Pentaconn jack:

- You can name playlists to whatever you want. - You can create as many playlists as you want (only 10 Bookmark lists I believe) - If you're happy to do so, you can create a playlist on a PC and move the playlist file to the /MUSIC folder on the SD card (can save time)

Bluetooth DAC function is a great addition. Playlists are now available to my unaltered ZX300 (Malaysia model) - they weren't before. Slow as hell creating a playlist though. Let's see how many DAC converts there will be in the WM-1A/1Z forum - it's been seen as a "meh..." type feature by many...

Didn't work for me last night with my RHA L1 using micro usb input. I'm not too confident with my current cable so I'll borrow a friends and try again over the weekend.

I've got a couple of them. Great to keep one with your dap in case you need a little charge time and don't happen to have your main cable with you (there's nearly ALWAYS a micro usb around!). Also works well with the ZX300 when using it as a dac.

Placed the order for the ZX300A on 21/06 and got the delivery 16/07. There was £11.34 import duty. Latest firmware and no volume cap so an amazingly good price for a great dap.

Same as superuser1 - embedded with cover.jpg in the same folder. Found that the ZX300 requires embedded artwork to display properly. Still, this combination seems to work with all of the daps I've tried it with so far.

Of course this is only my personal preference, but in terms of the overall sound presentation and sound quality I prefer the Sony hands down. I do like the R6, especially it's build quality and UI speed, but at the end of the day it's all about the music and the Sony does it so well and...

If it's not a Pentaconn original right angled 4.4mm plug you're after then there are a few third party plugs available from various sellers. Average about 10-12USD per plug.

I'm not sure of the rating of the Sony, but I'm using 16 ohm iems with the ZX300 and it's probably the best dap pairing I've heard with them. If anyone finds the rating it might be good to have for future reference.
