A company named "Synergistic Research" sells fuses? I would be concerned ;)

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

Why is there no love for Ethernet? In general. Seems like a perfect solution for digital data transfer. Isolated, CRC via FCS etc. No need to invent a wheel.

Yes, but the power supply of the THX never heats up either.

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Regarding the Jot and THX AAA amps comparison going on here, I have an observation unrelated to sound. The Jot warms up quite noticeably when working, the THX AAA from the Drop stays cool like it's off.

I am talking about our ears. Who cares if the noise is in MHz or Ghz as long as we don't hear it. Cosmic radiation, neutrinos, all kinds of waves are passing through you right now. Do you care?

I am talking about the same. What are the frequencies? What electronics operate below 20 kHz in 2020?

    Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier

Yes. Ragnarok: Power Consumption: 500W maximum. Yggdrasil: Power Consumption: 35W. One outlet can provide 1500W.

In order to eliminate hum/ground loop everything should be plugged into the same outlet.

Schiit Eitr impression and USB-SPDIF converters discussion

Your motherboard's audio won't be used with Eitr at all, only USB.

To me it's multibit for sure.

That's an urban legend. It is technically correct but with proper impedance matching, i.e., 75 Ohm cable, reflections should not occur at all. If they do occur then one is doing something wrong and the cable length might help but a different proper cable would be better.

I noticed that too and saw many posts stating the same over the years. Does anyone have an idea why is that?

Schiit Eitr impression and USB-SPDIF converters discussion

My Eitr was like this. I sent it to Schiit, they did a firmware upgrade. Now it advertises it can only accept 16 and 24 bit streams, so this situation won't happen again. I had to pay only for shipping to them.

Schiit Eitr impression and USB-SPDIF converters discussion

Check to make sure your output is not set to 32bit. Early batches of Eitr advertised to USB that they could accept 32bit streams and Windows probably sets the maximum, i.e. 32bit, but S/PDIF can't output 32bit, so no sound on the output.

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

Why is it odd? 1.8 A is the max. If you drove the HE-6 with it maybe it would have been closer to 1.8 A.

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

I was talking about cases like you described with your Bluetooth headphones. It's the DAC in your headphones you listen to. If you like it you are lucky. But why would you want to send data stream to your DAC via Bluetooth when it can be done via WiFi or better wired? Bluetooth was designed for...

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

Do you realize that Bluetooth doesn't transmit analog sound? It converts it to digital, than back to analog on the other side by some crappy unknown DAC. So if you have some good multibit DAC but Bluetooth is last in the chain before the headphones you listen to the DAC in your Bluetooth...

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

I don't know about that. But the Jot sounds very similar to the THX AAA 789, and there is a measurement of the 789 on one website that states "Frequency response is essentially ruler flat to 40 kHz". These amps essentially amplify what they get from the DAC. And I find most delta-sigma DACs...

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

The Jot is not really bright. It's neutral. Thus the DAC is very important, the Jot simply amplifies what's fed from the DAC. It's very good with Schiit's multibit DACs. The DAC-19 is also multibit. Have you tried it with the Jot?

Could you elaborate just a bit more or point me where it was discussed? Gen 5 USB was good for problematic USB sources (noise etc.). I don't have/use problematic USB sources. Gen 5 USB is quite good for me. How can Unison improve anything given the USB source and connection is not problematic?

I think the question is not about bugs and glitches but whether it's worth it over the Gen 5 USB.
