Massdrop Fostex TH-X00 Ebony impressions thread

@Darksoul They both have the same Fostex DNA (extreme treble and bass, recessed mids), albeit being tuned differently. The 900s have a clear edge when it comes to soundstage (oh boy dat soundstage) and also treble extension. I love treble, and those for me have the best treble in any closed back...

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Massdrop x HIFIMAN Bolt In-Ear Monitors'

---Introduction--- Here it is, another collaboration from Massdrop. Coming from the K7XXs, Fostex TR-X series and most recently the Plus, there is definitely a look of surprise on my face when I saw that the new Bolt, an IEM that was born from the collab between MD and HiFiMAN, costs only $10...

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Massdrop Plus'

---Introduction--- I love Massdrop. Despite living in Canada and bombarded with heavy import taxes, I am still very interested in special collaborations made by Massdrop such as the TR-X00, HD6XX, HD58X, and K7XX to name a few. After years of collaborations, Massdrop had to create something of...

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Shure SE425 Earphone'

--Introduction-- I know this review is quite late, as this IEM has been around the market for at least 7 years now, dating back to late 2010-2011 when it made its debut. However, I also understand that audio is a hobby, and one way or another people might want to get their hands on this piece...

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Noble Audio SAGE (LOT 18, #3)'

Intro The Noble Audio Sage was released back in late 2016, around November, and is meant to be a permanent replacement for the fan-favourite Noble Audio Savant. Despite being the successor of a popular line, initially the Sage was overshadowed by the Kaiser Encore, which was released around the...

    Noble Audio Sage

Sage follows the footsteps of the Savant and features proprietary Noble drivers that result in a more refined and capable sound. Reconfiguration of a vented port on the bass driver delivers increased low-end extension with more texture with a slight lift in overall bass response.

Noble Audio - Introducing KAISER ENCORE and SAGE

Hey man, quick question here. If you don't mind, much import tax did you pay when your IEMs come in? Thanks in advance!

@apatheticR Okay so I see u need an all rounder here. I would say you should immediately cross the P3 out, because for me it is a step down from the 950BT. The M50X has good sound, with a V shape like character to them. I own them and although they are good to me for any music, it is dreadful...

The Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350 Impressions thread

Hmm if the case is similar with its bigger bros (DT7/8/9XX), then get the 80 ohms, because from my experience the DT770 250 ohm is way better than the 80. But I never listened to the 30 DT1350 so I cant comment abt that

From my knowledge, no there is no mic cable for this particular headphone. Try getting the T51i if u want a mic in the cable

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless Headphone, Black'

Hello Head-Fi! This time I'm going to review my wonderful but short-lived Bowers and Wilkins P5 Wireless Headphones. A quick intro, this headphone is released around mid-2015 and is one of the newer pairs B&W in their headphone lineup. This headphone is based off of the P5 Series 2, which to me...

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Sony XBA-A3'

Hello Head-Fi! This is my second review here and this time its about my personal favorite IEM, the Sony XBA-A3!   A quick intro, this IEM was released a while back, around the end of 2014 (~September) in Japan by Sony. This IEM was meant to be a replacement to the XBA-H3, the previous flagship...

Review by 'CavemanSponge' on item 'Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP'

I know I am a bit late to the party, as these cans came out at around late 2015... I think. I got these last fall, and after using them for 5 months, I wanted to give this a review since there were none here on head fi. A quick disclaimer, the price posted here is a sale price, I got it for C$...

Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wireless - Impressions Thread

Wireless sound for B&W should be just as good as wired, from my experience with the P5 Wireless. The issue that I personally wud be concerned with is connectivity tho. It gets choppy when u put ur phone/player deep in ur pocket

Best $300 DAP: Opus #1 vs AK Jr?

I only have experience with the AK Jr, and what I can say is it sounds fantastic the first time u listen, but it gets boring over time... Id say dull. Scrolling speed and overall user experience was mediocre, the iPod nano is faster in terms of UI and stuff
