Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
According to What Hi-Fi two new analogue products will be revealed in Münich this year. https://www.whathifi.com/news/high-end-munich-2024-preview The Quartet is perhaps not ready yet. I hope I’m wrong.- SoundeScapes

What are the main differences you hear? You don’t find it thinner and more sterile sounding compared to TT2? I have read that people find the TT2 to sound fuller and more forgiving. I own the Mscaler and TT2 myself and am curious. I use it with speakers though.- SoundeScapes

I think another important explanation as to why Hans change his equipment regularly is in a post earlier on this page. He’s an audiophile influencer and reviewer. He has to move on to attract viewers. How fun would it be for people to hear him talk about the same DAC for almost 10 years? It’s a...- SoundeScapes

I use this one. It’s very simple and works great: https://www.futureshop.co.uk/cyp-au-d6-192-usb-digital-audio-converter-192khz-24-bit- SoundeScapes

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
It's definitely possible to drive speakers with the TT2. I drove my 93dB Tannoys with no issues and several others in this forum have reported driving various speaker models. Rob drives his B&W 803's directly. It depends on what SPL, and character etc, you want out of your system. I now use...- SoundeScapes

Another idea. Since you have more or less decided on using long XLR's, have you considered using a long optical cable from the TV back to the Dave? I don't know about Dave but I use the M Scaler and TT2 and while there is too much delay with the M Scaler, even in video mode, connecting my TV...- SoundeScapes

The M scaler lowers output approx. 3dB if I remember correctly so if you went from mTT2 directly to Dave that might be the reason.- SoundeScapes

The ’digital’ pulse array amplifier that has been discussed for many years now would certainly be worth a 90 day buildup. That’s what I’m hoping for.- SoundeScapes

It depends how you define 'fancy' but I have the AQ Cinnamon and Supra Ethernet cables and to be honest I couldn't hear a difference between these cables and regular cat6. And I normally hear differences between other cables such as power cables, USB, IC's and speaker cables.- SoundeScapes

I have no experience in fancy Ethernet cables either but at least instead of buying the Vodka cable for £999 I would consider trying the Uptone Etheregen switch and placing it close to the streamer. I have one and it made a very clear difference for the better. It is cheaper than 5m Vodka and...- SoundeScapes

Mouser is one of few places I've found. There are some variants of the absorber sheets but I think the "AB 7050HF" looks good. AB7000HF-Series- SoundeScapes

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I too had a Qutest into an integrated amp and was contemplating whether to go for a HMS or TT2 as the next step. I ended up buying the M-Scaler first and found the change very subtle. It was even hard for me to tell if it was upscaling or not. When I bought the TT2 it was a much bigger...- SoundeScapes

You might be right but have you compared them to the ifi elite? To me it looks like it might be a carefully designed SMPS. If that graph they showed are real measurements I’m keen to try it.- SoundeScapes

Speaking of batteries and power supplies. Ifi Audio just released a new power supply called 'ipower Elite': https://ifi-audio.com/products/ipower-elite/ I think it's a SMPS and it seems to have really good RFI filtering. They had a graph on their site just a few days ago which showed a really...- SoundeScapes

It's exactly the same for me. Well almost. Expensive can be an issue for me :-) I think long and hard before making any hifi purchases, even the cheaper gadget / tweak kind of stuff. I had an eye on the Wave cables and read the reviews even before I bought the M-Scaler. I have looked for other...- SoundeScapes

That was really weird reading. First he writes a pretty good review and describes very thoroughly the differences between the models and that they "tame edginess" amongst other things. Then later on in the comments section he states that the cables are BS and is basically calling Nick a crook...- SoundeScapes

I recommend you try a pair of Fyne Audio F501 floorstanding speakers. They are more sensitive than the KEFs at 90 dB. They are between £1100 - £1200 and sound really great for that price. I have a pair in a second system. I received my TT2 last week and would love to try this myself. I don't...- SoundeScapes

Perhaps try Media Monkey, https://www.mediamonkey.com/. I don't know if it sounds any different to your current media player but it's really good for organising a large (local) library.- SoundeScapes
