I assume that the Asus control panel operates at the drivers level, so the only workaround could be configuring the sound in every app itself with the proper driver support, so, just no, UNLESS the app itself modifies the output by their own software. And by the way, that Dolby fake crap...

Xonar DSX now has official Win8 (x64) drivers, as Xonar D1, DX & DG and Essence STX. So, it seems that they are releasing them for both current and old products and pci/pci-e. I guess drivers for remaining models should be expected :)
